This is a great Japanese Restaurant. I mean-where do I start?
Let’s go with service first. We were immediately greeted upon entering which is always a great touch. You want to feel “wanted” in any restaurant by staff. The tables were clean and seats were decent with ample seating room.
Our server was Anna and even in the evening she was courteous, smiling and very attentive to our needs and requests. Mind you this is while she was tending to the rest of the restaurant. 5 stars for Anna! Thank you! ☺️
The appetizers were delicious and generous with portioning. As were the main courses. I got the Chicken Bento Box with some assortments of Sushi Rolls. Now let me mention something about Sushi in NYC. As we all know everything is super expensive. Expensive and small in portions. Especially with seafood.
Miyama Sushi and Steakhouse gives the biggest portions I’ve ever tried at any seafood/Sushi restaurant at decent and fair pricing. Mind you I would pay for for the level of quality and, once again, portions. This is the first Sushi “spot” where I had to take some home to eat later. Mind you, I’m 6’4” 250 lbs. Not the biggest guy but larger than most and my appetite is huge. 👏🏾
The culinary design of each dish is unmatched with most other locations. There were two sushi chefs here and I was impressed with the amount of energy these guys had. Their attention to detail and deft skill at designing each sushi food/food item was definitely awe inspiring. I couldn’t see my self working for hours each day doing nothing but spending time feeding hungry people but in a way that requires discipline. 🫡
Overall the experience deserves 5 stars for customer service, food quality and environment. Beware: if you come here hungry get a good appetizer because it does take time to “design” each dish. I promise you though, it’s worth the wait. Expect probably a 15-20 minute wait on the main courses. 🤌🏿
Oh! Bathrooms are super clean. To Anna and staff thank you! We...
Read moreI love this place. Let me paint a picture for you: You enter. You’re greeted by multiple smiling faces and guided toward a giant, cozy booth. You slide into the booth, the seats are smooth, the table is shiny and clean. The back of the seat rises high behind you and you are immersed in the cocoon of a suburban restaurant style booth that brings you back to memories of being 12 in 2004, giddy with excitement for a special dinner out with the family. You’re presented with a giant book that looks too elegant and mysterious to be just a menu. You open it. It is not just a menu…it is a journey of colorful photographs, each one a world of sushi combo possibilities. Blue light glows from the walls. You make your selection: a maki combo with a side salad. A short time passes and then…your sushi arrives. It’s presented to you on a small bamboo tray with an orchid posed delicately atop your salmon roll. You take a bite. The fish is fresh and bright. The orchid dances off to the side of the tray as you make your way through each piece of sushi. This is bliss.
TLDR: this place rules. Super friendly helpful staff. They were very mindful of my soy allergy and made sure everything was safe for me to eat. The fish is very fresh and the prices are reasonable. It’s my new...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is inviting, with a perfect blend of modern elegance and traditional Japanese charm. Whether you’re on a date, out with friends, or just craving high-quality sushi, this spot is a must-visit.
The sushi itself was incredibly fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. Each piece practically melted in my mouth, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The chef’s selection of sashimi was a highlight—vibrant, delicate, and full of rich umami flavor. I also highly recommend the signature rolls, which showcase both creativity and top-tier ingredients.
Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They took the time to explain the menu and offer great recommendations, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall this restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way. If you’re a sushi enthusiast or just someone who appreciates great food and excellent service, this is the place to be. I will definitely be returning...
