Rico Pollo 1 — Restaurant in New York

I have been ordering food from here since I was younger! Not sure when they opened but way before their renovation! I know Ridgewood has a couple of Dominican resultants nearby & there’s another location in Brooklyn but this is my favorite go to! It also was walking distance from when I use to live in Ridgewood. Their lunch special are now $8 or $9 which is still pretty good cause they also stack your plate with food! The never slack with giving plenty of food in your plates! I’ve always been a big fan of their pernil, rotisserie chicken, arroz con gandules(yellow rice with pigeon peas, beans, & chicharron de pollo sin jueso. I use to get their chicken soup but then it got a little too greasy for me. Even their vegetables are good lol. Their staff is always ready to help and serve and their restaurant is always clean. They’re always changing the trays so thats how you know when food is fresh and not sitting out all day. Not sure for how long they’ve been letting customers pay with card but that has come in handy! They use to only accept cash years ago and there’s an atm there but I know many people who don’t like that extra atm charge! After a few orders, I have to edit my prior review from 5 star to 1, reason being this is the second time I order a pernil for the holidays to take to a family gathering. The pernil was old, cold and under cooked. I will no longer order from this place, it was an embarrassing moment for me although my relative, put it in their oven for further cooking, this had no good smell of pernil, which lead us to believe it was old. Shame on Rico Pollo. People you are better off cooking your own, this is what I get for trying to save time. I spent $45.00, for a pernil no one enjoyed. Made simple orders of steak and eggs and a order of pork chops both with rice and beans. Also a side of chicharron. Lady on the phone told me 30 bucks. I pay the delivery guy with tip and realized after I didn't get my steak and eggs. So I called the restaraunt I told them I paid the guy 30 dollars and tip but didn't receive my other order. They told me I never order steak and eggs after talking to like 3 different people which was total BS! So I said can I have back the extra money I paid. The delivery guy says I only paid him 20 bucks plus tip. So I didn't get my food and was robbed for ten bucks.
