A frozen yogurt shop that also happens to be a sushi restaurant is strange enough on paper that you probably wouldn't expect it the sushi to be particularly good.

You would be wrong. Not only do they have excellent sushi, but the prices are pretty damn good.

Personally, I've long had a test to determine just how fresh and good a given restaurant's sushi is that's never steered me wrong. I try the salmon: If it has more of a rich, fatty flavor, then you know you're dealing with high quality sushi. If it has more of a sweet taste, then it may not be BAD, but it's not nearly as good. Shogun Sushi is the former. And everything I've tried there has been excellent.

They're also happy to make brown rice sushi if you'd prefer that. Since vinegar turned into a migraine trigger for me about a decade ago, I can't eat regular sushi rice anymore, so the brown rice option lets me continue to enjoy delicious sushi at places like this.

I don't eat dairy anymore, so I can't personality comment on the frogurt, but when I've gone here with friends, they've always been high on it, the bubble tea, etc.

Great, friendly service, too. The owner always remembers me even when I haven't been there in several months.

Wonderful little oddball place with great food that I hope...

From the moment I stepped into this hidden gem, I knew I had found something special. Over the years, my visits to this sushi haven have transformed from mere dining experiences into cherished moments of culinary delight. The owner's warm welcome and genuine passion for their craft have fostered a relationship that transcends the typical customer-server dynamic.

Each bite is a symphony of freshness and flavor, a testament to the dedication to quality ingredients and meticulous preparation. From the delicate slices of sashimi to the intricate rolls bursting with creativity, every dish is a masterpiece.

But what truly sets this place apart is the intangible sense of belonging it instills in every visitor. Here, dining isn't just about satisfying hunger—it's about forging connections, creating memories, and savoring the simple joys of life.

In a world where dining experiences often blur together, this sushi haven stands as a beacon of excellence, reminding us of the profound impact a truly exceptional meal can have. If you haven't yet experienced the magic of this place, do yourself a favor and make a reservation today. You...

Hidden gem. Many may not know that this place serves extremely high quality poke bowls, sushirito, etc, since the casual froyo setting and faded banner sign sort of obscure the expectation. YoFresh/Shogun is a true mom and pop style establishment -- the owner is Always there, and he goes daily to the 4am fresh fish market. The sushi and rolls are gorgeously fresh and caringly prepared by a dedicated sushi chef. As for the froyo, it is also delicious, with a wide array of fresh toppings, hi qual fruits etc. I come here all the time on repeat. The build-your-own sushirito is a miracle of Ridgewood. Ten stars, classic spot, rare mom and pop, fresh fresh fish, dedication to quality and...

My friends and I have been coming to Yo Fresh for years and it always holds up. I have never questioned the quality of sushi or froyo I've had there. Around this area it's hard to find good sushi and it's not something many are willing to take a risk on for good reason. The service is always great the store owner knows my phone number and order the second he picks up the phone. As for froyo I'm a simple guy the pistachio & cake batter swirl with the granola bits is all I need.

-1000000 stars . I did a take out on bubble tea and I could NOT taste any flavor. It wasn’t enjoyable. I politely asked if I could exchange for something else - the guy tells me ā€ no , that’s what you order and that’s what you getā€ This is so rude and shows no customer service skills what so ever. I would not recommend going to this place just because If you have any issues with something this guy will not fix it what so ever. Who wants to deal with that?

I been to Sushi šŸ£ places all over nyc, this place in Brooklyn really killed it. Best sushi ever by far. Great flavors, great presentation, diferrent ingredients that you cant find anywhere around... The spicy sauce was great.. Prices are fair, but portions are on the smaller side.. Overall sushi is great.. And the gentlemen who took care of me was very polite and caring... Too bad I live miles away ...
