TL;DR - Great food, horrible service.
I'm writing this review as I currently sit and wait for my server to acknowledge me and my lady have yet to have proper service rendered to us. Upon entering this place, it appears that it's jumping tonight. The hostess seats us; so far so good. Approximately 12 mins go by before our server appears to greet us. A slight, but maybe they're busy. After all, it is a Friday night. She finally shows up and takes our drink order, a pitcher of sangria with hypnotiq flavor. Only the drink order though, which I find odd. Another 10 mins go by as we she appears to be interrupted to have to sing "Feliz cumpleaños". No biggie. Now another 10 mins go by and still no drink. We attempt to catch her attention, but her back is turned. Fortunately, another worker sees us and alerts her to our request for her attention and she immediately goes to a whole other table with a group of people instead. Obviously they didn't want her and they make that known, so she goes back to her original position. The guy corrects her that it was us, and not the group of people, that wanted her. She turns and sees us, and makes a gesture which basically means "hold on. I'll be there". You know, the hand up in the air. But hold up now, you jumped right over to the group of people but I gotta wait? Another 10 mins go by before my lady has to get up and approach our server. Another 10 mins go by until the server comes to say the hypnotiq wasn't around. We cancel the drink order, the food comes out, we eat, she checks in on us only once more and then we paid for the food and left. If you do go to this place, just be aware that the service is subpar but the food...
Read moreBeing relatively new to the area, I was absolutely shocked at the quality of the food and the cocktails at this neighborhood place. Apparently it's been there for many years. I don't know what it was like in the past but I can tell you that I have been there about 10 times. Only once was I semi disappointed in the food. As it turns out, it was my fault. I happen to be a huge fan of Paella. I've been to Spain many times. I saw Paella on the menu and ordered it without actually reading the description. Their version of Paella comes with melted cheese on top. That is not is not a very traditional way of serving it and I am not a fan of mend cheese, but it was listed on the menu and it was my fault for overlooking it. The food under the cheese was excellent lol.
Additionally, i am a huge Margherita fan. I am a "Margarita on the rocks with salt" girl, HOWEVER, the frozen margaritas in this place are a must-have. In my experience, most restaurants serve weak cocktails from slushie machines. Not Montezuma! Their frozen margaritas are so ridiculously strong that you better watch out.
To summarize, food - drinks - service is always on point. It's always going to be a happy day when you go...
Read moreThe service that the waiter provided us was excellent I give him ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, giving recommendations, and very attentive. I didn't like the music at all. There were decoration according to some Mexican Culture. They were playing toooo much Bachata, it make us feel that we were at a DR Restaurant instead a Mexican Restaurant. That was not good I wanted get out of there right away because before getting in there, that music wasn't my expectations about what music plays that Mexican Restaurant. I mean, some bachata is ok, but that was too much. The menu includes many strange dishes but most traditional and famous Mexican dishes aren't in menu. They have a large variety of drinks. The bar is amazing, restrooms are clean and nice. The food took a little long to come, but when it arrive they gave us plenty of time to eat and they never rushed or bothered us. The Tip is already included in your bill and I think is an 18% of your total $$$$ consumption. The don't give any appetizer (chips, pico de gallo)...
