I have been going to Onieal's for over a decade and shocked to see how it is currently being managed. Still great food and drinks, but there is an unprofessional immature young boy behind the bar who I think is the manager. He was more concerned about flirting with girls at the bar than doing his job on my last visit. After calling to confirm their happy hr time, a friend and I went in for drinks and a bite. We ordered happy hr wines but were not told that the one we ordered was sold out. The bartender poured us another type, but we only learned this after questioning the bill charge being more than what was advertised. This would not have been a big deal if communicated, but instead of explaining himself, the "manager" stood behind the bar shaking his head while loudly complaining about us for almost 10 minutes to his staff and the young girls he was flirting with. The staff who was reporting to him was very nice and apologetic. I feel bad for the newish bartender and servers on the floor who have to work under this unprofessional embarassment Onieal's has representing their establishment as a manager. Beyond disappointed and will not go back or...
Read moreOne night, after a long flight from LGA, we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a place. We thought it was just a bar, but boy, were we wrong! The food was absolutely incredible. Since then, it’s become our go-to spot for a late-night bite after every trip. The burgers, steak sandwiches, and specials are all top-notch. We’ve had corn beef for St. Patrick’s Day, and it was absolutely delicious! I But what really sets this place apart is the passion and love that goes into each dish. The chef and his crew take great pride in their work, and it can be tasted in every bite. Food is delicious not only because great ingredients but also because is prepare by crew with love and passion what can be taste. Wait stuff is also so frankly and helpful and nice. Make us feel always welcome. And we not stop there fro drinks but mostly for food. If you ever find yourself in the area, definitely give Onieal’s a try. You won’t regret it! And don’t forget to give the chef a shout if you have any feedback. We’ll definitely be back after our next trip! Can’t wait to try more of their...
Read moreOnieals is a bit hidden, in the sense that it’s in a pretty quiet part of Chinatown. A few friends and I stopped in on the day after Christmas, after having dinner next door. There's an area in the back where they serve food, but if you're just looking to have a few drinks, then there's a lounge area in the front.
Their cocktails are pretty good but it's pricey ($15). I tried the Bourbon Beehive (Bulleit bourbon, honey, pomegranate & fresh lemon), which I really liked. I like Bulleit, so that was already a plus, and it wasn't too sweet. I tried a sip of my friend's Kentucky Tea (Bulleit bourbon, black tea, spanked mint & lemon, honey & peach bitters, and this one was good as well. I ordered this as my second drink, but they mistakenly brought out some tequila cocktail. I don't like tequila but I must say, whatever that cocktail was, was still pretty good.
I saw on their website that they have $1 oysters on Wednesdays from 4 pm to 11 pm, so I wouldn't mind coming...
