Capitale as I once thought was an extremely prestigious establishment and an amazing venue for events turned into the utmost nightmare of my life! The morning of 12/17 at approximately 3:50-4:24 A.M. my purse was confiscated and placed into the coat checks’ possession, as an “unattended item.” Yes, I am truly grateful my belongings were found after my extensive search. In addition, I’m truly appreciative towards the individual who turned this in as the situation could’ve had a different outcome. However, unfortunately $200 was missing out of my purse and I’m certain it was inside the purse. While in search for my purse, I was informed by the security team several completely different stories, as to where the purse initial findings were: I was informed, ”The purse was taken from the back area on top of the table” and also informed “The purse was located in a corner close to the stairwell leading towards the restrooms.” I'm flabbergasted, as my purse was on the table next to our bottle service table and within seconds my purse vanished while we were taking photos. I’ve spoken to David Segovia when all occurred and I was given his business card to follow up. Upon following with David Segovia he forwarded my email to Claudia Baricevic, which she was never even on the scene. This in my eyes is completely unprofessional on David’s behalf, as I intially spoke with him regarding this entire ordeal personally. Claudia’s responses were absolutely unapologetic and crude! Never did she or David apologize about the incident and the inconsistencies about the series of events given by their security team! Claudia also now claims, “Head of Security, Luis Alvarez turned the item in.” At no time during my search did Luis approach me or acknowledge taking my item. Therefore, I don’t believe this at all. I’m continuously blamed by Capitale and they’re stating the item was “unattended!” My item was unattended, the security guard should’ve never touched my item especially when I have photos with the time marks and images showing we were all by the table. The area was not desolate. The security team also stated, “There were people in the area and they did not want to ask us if the purse was ours, as they were unsure if we’d claim the purse if it that was not ours.” Completely absurd, any other security team would know to look for an identification card. If you saw guests in the area, wouldn’t you ask the guests was the property theirs or ask someone one from the area to identify what’s in the bag? Furthermore, I was victimized and my privacy was violated. I strongly feel if it were a partygoer to find the purse they would’ve left the vicinity with the purse. Claudia Baricevic also stated, “We have no proof who took the money that was in your purse or if there was even any money in your purse.” I’m sorry Capitale, I have a life and I don’t make irrelevant false accusations! Unfortunately, Capitale does not have any cameras to further review— and their stories were all inconsistent and filled with fibs!
Shame on this this establishment!!!! Do not have any...
Read moreCame here for a Gala! Beautiful space, it use to be a bank and thankfully the architect kept most of the structure and details in tact. There is a quaint charm to the space with its marble pillars and accents of gold detailing all throughout the space. At the heart of building's atrium is the bank vault beautifully adorned with the golden clock.
Don't know much details about the catering but the food was great. The catering staff were efficient and professional. There were a few food and bar stations throughout the atrium. If I remember correctly, there was an antipasto/appetizer, Asian, and Pasta stations. I only had patience to wait in line for the pasta station - the Chicken Orzo was phenomenal. There was open bar and the severs here were NOT light handed with the top shelf liquor. Amen! Later into the night the food stations turned into dessert and tea stations. The chocolate covered banana lollipop were perfectly done, the banana still had structure and bite after being dipped into tempered chocolate - that take some skills!
The table layout was horrendous! Granted this Gala was more for reconnecting/networking there were more attendees than seats available. There were few standing tables circling the atrium but hey if I paid $100 I expect a seat at the table and not to be a floater for the entire night in three inch high heels. I would say a good 40% of the attendees just floated around empty seats, ate standing up with plates in their hands or while waiting in the buffet line (which was I did). Whoever did the layout, I dislike you very much!
In front of the vault was the dance floor, it could have been bigger but the layout of the dining tables restricted its size. The acoustic in the atrium is pretty good. Didn't like the DJ (granted he was just doing his job) promptly stopped at 1am and over several times bluntly told all attendees to move out of the building. Didn't appreciate that - yeah everyone have to close up for the night etc etc but some of us are still waiting in line to use the restroom or gathering our personal belonging because it is disbursed everywhere due to the lack of seating. Didn't appreciate being rushed out...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding there this past November 2023, and I honestly do not have enough good things to say about both the venue itself and the team/staff.
The venue itself is magnificent - the high ceilings, the lighting, the classic New York architecture all make this venue absolutely magical.
The team at Capitale however, truly takes it to another level. They were there every step of the way, making wedding planning not just easy, but fun and enjoyable. Adam, the Director of Catering was beyond helpful in guiding our food choices, and guests haven't stopped talking about how amazing the food was. From cocktail hour to dessert, everything was delicious. Mike, the Director of Production helped us get the perfect lighting, going through every instance in every room possible. His attention to detail is incredible and the lighting really made this room come to life. David, the Maître D' ran our entire wedding seamlessly. With a 20 person bridal party, there wasn't a hair out of place. Finally, Claudia was there from the beginning. She made us feel like family, answering all of our questions any time we called or texted. She was professional, helpful and such a joy to work with.
I honestly don't have enough good things to say about Capitale. From the venue to the team, it was a wedding I could have never dreamed of - and a wedding our guests ave continued to talk...
