My visit to L'Amore Italian Restaurant in Manhattan was an absolute delight, especially for a pizza and cocktail aficionado like myself. The pizza here is arguably the best in New York, with each bite offering a perfect blend of crispy crust, fresh toppings, and authentic Italian flavors. It's not just food; it's an experience. The ambiance of L'Amore complements the dining experience beautifully. It's a place that melds elegance with comfort, making it suitable for a variety of occasions. The service also deserves praise – attentive, friendly, and always on point. But what really took my experience over the top were the drinks – specifically, the Negroni and Aperol. These cocktails were to die for, expertly mixed and balanced, enhancing the overall meal. The Negroni was robust and nuanced, while the Aperol was refreshingly light and flavorful. They're a testament to the skill of the bartenders at L'Amore. In summary, whether you're in Manhattan for a day or a lifetime, L'Amore Italian Restaurant is a must-visit for its exceptional pizza, inviting ambiance, top-notch service, and outstanding drinks. A gem in the city's culinary scene. Thank you for the best tiramisú!!!

Stopped in for a late night dinner and was excited to try a traditional Italian restaurant. Our server was a super nice older gentleman. We said we wanted the frutti di mare and he recommended a ‘special’ that they were having with lobster and frutti di mare for 2. We thought why not? No price was ever discussed which is partly my fault for not asking. The frutti di mare by the menu is $41. If you double that for 2 it’s $82. Then if you add a lobster you get however much. But again…the server said it was a ‘deal’ or a ‘special’. There wasn’t anything special about the price of this ‘special’ as when the bill came we were charged $110 for this meal plus the $15 for the bruschetta altogether we paid $162 and walked away feeling duped and taken advantage of. If we would have known the price before hand we would have never ordered the meal. Just be careful not to get taken advantage of as we just were. Food was truthfully an 8/10 and absolutely delicious. Service and atmosphere 3/5 stars because of how we were taken advantage of. Actual table service was great with great attention paid to our glasses and tidiness of the table.

Excellent Italian Dishes!! Setup -- rolled in here for "second dinner" 😂 after having reservations at another spot in Little Italy for our first dinner. Food -- wish we had had this place for first dinner! We only got one dish, a few drinks, and a dessert and we greatly enjoyed it. We split the Penne Vodka and it was fantastic!! The noodles tasted extremely fresh and the sauce was a perfect balance. Drinks -- got a glass wine that was excellent and a prosecco negroni that was top notch! Dessert -- rolled with the tiramisu and it great! Was tough to choose between the many choices, but it was gone fast! Service -- good overall. Our main waiter who took our order didn't quite tend to us aster initial order, but another waiter made up the difference. Great recommendations and helpful. Vibe -- pretty modern vibe that wasn't married to the old school setup. More space with seating the other locale we visited. Overall -- excellent stop which has excellent Italian dishes, cool vibe, and good service!!

AVOID!!!

The most shockingly unprofessional staff, including the manager, and most despicable behavior pertaining to food allergy related safety of a child I have ever encountered. I am a Manhattan resident and have dined out plenty. Never in my entire adult life have I written a negative review on any service until now. My 10 year old daughter has a walnut allergy. She has eaten pesto for years at various restaurants in the city without issues so the allergy concern didn’t cross my mind when she ordered gnocchi pesto with mussels. But tonight, she told me immediately there was walnut in the dish since she felt nauseous after a couple of bites. We asked the waiter whether the dish contained any nuts, and he confirmed with the kitchen staff that indeed the pesto contained walnuts. He reluctantly offered to replace the dish with a new one but made with tomato sauce which I agreed to. He brought back a gnocchi dish with plain tomato sauce but without mussels, so I asked him for the mussels. He then claimed that I told him my daughter had an allergy to shellfish and that was why they would not replace the mussels. We were dining with family and friends (11 of us in total) so there were plenty witnesses to his walnut confirmation and there was never any mentioning of a shellfish allergy from my part. And why would we order mussels if there was a known shellfish allergy to begin with??? He then started to berate me for not informing him about the allergy and quietly walked away. About 10 minutes later, he came back to throw a plate of mussels in front of my daughter so violently the fork flew off the table. He said not a word and did not a thing other than simply walking away. Then came the manager who proceeded to ask me what happened. I recounted the event and to my utmost dismay, he immediately defended his staff by shouting at me that they are a reputable restaurant and their staff would never lie. Meanwhile, did he even bother asking if my daughter was ok? NOPE. Interestingly, my friend left a few moments after the rest of us because he went to the rest room. On his way out, he overheard the manager chastising the waiter.

It is a shame that the very people in the food service do not appear to have any shred of concern for food allergy and safety, most disappointedly when it comes to a young child. It is also a shame that a well established restaurant would choose to complacently rest on its laurels as opposed to uphold the quality of service, and extend the basic courtesy. There are plenty of superior choices here in the city and that’s why I never came here previously and would never have come had it not been for a friend who is visiting from out of town and who was...

What an odd experience, let's start with ,as we sat down , a guy came placed bread on the table and starting filling water , he filled one glass and clearly the water finished at quarter glass, he dropped the jug on the bar and stood up, while I asked "can we have some butter for the bread " he looked at me like I had 3 heads and then never came back leaving the glass quarter filled with water .

We then went to order to which my friends order was wrong. Mind you, we waited about 48 minutes before the food came to us. The food was tasteless and not good . I barely even touched it. The eggplant parm looked as though It was microwaved and beaten .

To add ,while picking at the food , the guy who was standing at the register , could be the owner or whatever he was , was yelling at workers and also ,between the bartender and servers there was countless misunderstandings about who cleans the counters .

if I could read into this, it just seems by the look of it , i maybe wrong but this cashier or guy who was standing at the register seemed grimy and sly , even we asked for the Check, the woman brought it and I kinda hesitated cause both our places looked filled and wasn't touch yet the bill was 78 dollars for 2 entrees with no drinks and no appetizers. I just wanted out of there so I paid and we left.

The impression I got from other people was that this grimy cashier was collecting all tips and probably not sharing , i maybe wrong , but that's the impression I got while servers and bartender had words at each other along with words at the cashier.

I definitely will not be back , and I do not recommend this place. The sause for the eggplant tasted like Ragu out of a can and the entire plate was red and did not feel like it was made fresh .. many other places to go in this area and this...

went to that restaurant to eat for the second time. I went to that restaurant two months ago and the food was very good and the service was very good. But last week I went again to a business meeting. In the beginning, everything was going well. I was waiting for a business person. Then a man from the same restaurant approached me. I don't know if he was a waiter or a bartender because another waiter served me first. Everything was fine with him, very friendly and everything. But when the other man came over, I don't know what he was, he started asking me personal things about me, asking when I would finish there, that he was inviting me to have a few drinks and so many stupid things. Then the other person that I was waiting for arrived. That man kept going on and on and started talking to her too. Of course, she being a very polite person didn't say anything to him. But when I saw the insistence of that man, I had to get up and go to the bathroom. When I came back, he was waiting for me at the bar and with such insistence he invited me and asked me my phone number. I insisted that no, I am a very busy woman. and married but he insisted and that man's mouth stank and besides it was obvious he was half drunk. I don't know what that man thought if people go to a restaurant it's to talk or meet with someone for business or whatever but with that kind of behavior like that man did no one will return to that restaurant. He told me his name I think was Walter. Feedback
