Let me start out with saying, in April I called Pappas for the first time to try and get a reservation. They had reservations available, based on the online availability I saw. So at the time I had a group larger than 9, so I needed to go through a person at the restaurant. I called the restaurant every night for the first week of April, to try and make a reservation. They had people answering the phone but continuously told me that I needed to speak with the events person. That person didn’t start calling me back for about two weeks. Theresa was one of the only good things about this experience. After two weeks I found myself getting theresa on the phone. She continued to reach out to Apollo, who handled reservations. He never got back to me for another two weeks, could never get him on the phone. At this point Theresa and I are texting everyday for me to try and get a reservation and spend money at this place. After a month of contacting this place, Apollo finally gets on the phone with me, and is apologizing, and so is Theresa. I’m so fed up at this point and about to switch to another Greek party/mykonos style restaurant for my birthday. However I still continued. Apollo told me for 10 people I need to pay a $500 deposit….. fair, it’s a new place in NYC. I get it. I decided to just make a Rez for 9 and bring the 10th person with me, and hope they pull a chair up for him. Anyway, the cherry on top of all of that chaos was… We get to the restaurant, they spend about 10 minutes being super annoying that there’s a 10th person, because they didn’t get their deposit. We already brought cash with all of us because we knew splitting the bill would be a problem for them. So we came prepared. Anyway, they finally seat us, and 15 min goes by, no server, nothing. Server finally comes, and is a complete jerk, took 3/10 of our drink orders, isn’t smiling or talking to anyone. Seemed completely non verbal or on something , wasn’t using words …..We keep asking questions and trying to order, he ignores us. Super unorganized…He took only a few food orders, we tried ordering apps, and he wouldn’t do courses, we couldn’t believe it. My guess is because the 20% gratuity is included, they don’t care about anything. I wish I could of left no tip. So this is MY birthday, I chose to have here, and I thought it would be special. No performances start until about 930pm, some of us have food, some have drinks, and others are waiting and have nothing. This was about a 2k bill, but that didn’t matter. The only good things were Theresa, the food was great, and once the performer finally came out, she was good too. The experience I had really killed all of the good parts of the restaurant. I am Greek myself and travel back and forth to Greece, I was highly disappointed. I would order door dash or Uber eats from them, but that’s it. If you think you’re going to go here and have a fabulous experience like they show on social media, think again. My guess is you have to buy “bottles” and not just drinks, to get any sort of respect. I would go somewhere where you’re treated well and appreciated. Also, my friends mentioned that it was my birthday to their team, and they didn’t do anything special, no celebration or desert or anything special. I’m really upset I spent my birthday here. I should of took the red flags and signs from the beginning to go to kyma or anywhere else. I would of rather spend it at the diner and got my...

Read moreThis was truly the most horrific restaurant experience I’ve EVER had I’m in shock this place hasn’t been shut down by the health dept yet, we spent FIVE miserable hours here. Quick highlight of the worst parts of all: We were sat at 9:45 for a 9pm res despite all 8 people arriving by 9:15 and even though the woman who made the reservation had called at 7pm that day to confirm the prefix menu she had set up they acted like they had no idea it existed and tried to upsell us into the regular menu throughout the meal every single time we needed something, even just tap water, not only did we have to flag someone down we had to physically get up and go to the bar and tell one of the bartenders to send someone over because a server or bus boy never once came over to our table on their own accord everything was filthy, we were giving dirty glasses, plates, and silverware multiple times throughout the meal and again since they don’t come over we had to physically get up and go bring them to the bar and make them change them out and usually the next set of what they brought was also dirty, they never apologized for any of the dirty things and multiple times tried to gaslight us into saying they weren’t dirty even tho you would see the lipstick marks and food residue on them we ordered 3 bottles of Greek white wine from their menu, the woman who ordered them literally POINTED to the one she wanted and then they poured us Josh California Chardonnay. When I went up to the bar with the bottle and said what the is this it’s not what we ordered they deadass looked me in the eye and said “the whole wine menu is fake and that’s the only white wine we have” and I said “well then you have to tell people that when they order you can’t just bring it over and pour it do you understand how insane it is to order a Greek organic assyrtiko blend and be given Josh California Chardonnay?? How much does this bottle cost it better be like $30 because we ordered $75 bottles of nice wine” and they had the audacity to say it costs MORE than the Greek one I ordered we didn’t receive our appetizers until 11pm, the appetizers we preselected from the prefix menu before we even arrived at the restaurant that were literally just Greek salads they said the kitchen was so overwhelmed but they could’ve grown the tomatoes themselves in the amount of time it took and we didn’t receive our entrees until after midnight at multiple times they tried to gaslight us into thinking we already got them and I was like are you actually kidding and after all that we were forced to pay a 20% included gratuity and the food was...
