We are in the midst of a plastic pollution crisis. By 2050, the ocean will be filled with more plastic than fish. Plastics are made from fossil fuels, and break down into micro plastics, which poison our bodies and our ecosystems. Over 95% of the plastic that we recycle does not actually get recycled, but rather ends up in landfills, burned in incinerators, or floating in the ocean.
I would love to see a venue like yours, with the funding from audible, transition to aluminum canned water, as opposed to plastic bottled water. I would also like to see you stop forcing these thick plastic cups is the only option for attendees to use for wine.
It is needless and reckless, and for me as a concert goer, stops me from buying anything from the concessions.
There are currently no policies in place that will lessen plastic pollution from the source, so it will depend on venues like yours, and customers like me, to maintain accountability and opt for a better way.
And felt absurd to attend this wonderful show with the Punch Brothers—focused on climate futures— while seeing the audience create a of plastic trash, billowing from the cans out in the lobby.
Thank you for considering how to make the concert experience at Minetta Lane more enjoyable for the humans who attend, and for all beings who must endure the brunt of our...
Read moreWhile the lights may shine brighter on Broadway and the crowds may flock to get tickets to Hamilton, some of the best theater happens away from the Great White Way. Minetta Lane Theater is tucked away in the West village, putting on off beat plays, one person shows and the whole gamut of theater and performance. I've been here to see several one man shows including Collin Quinn's latest stand up shows.
The theater itself is small, barely clocking in at 300 seats. Because of the small square footage, most seats are about the size of an economy airplane seat, packed in one on top of the next. Otherwise the theater is just like many other small to midsize play houses across the city - simple hallways and no ornate dressings on the walls or floors.
Overall a very nice place to see a good show without all the hustle and bustle of midtown...
Read moreI went to the Minetta Lane Theatre & found their customer service attrocious. We got there half hour before curtain & there was a glitch with our tickets. The first cashier told us they were sold out and, would not accommodate us, then proceeded to throw out my receipt. I went back to retrieve my proof of purchase when the gentleman at the box office window treated me like a second class citizen by telling me, IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, to get away from the other window because the other cashier took my receipt of purchase and threw it out!! While this does NOT have reflection on Company IV, they were both horribly rude & nasty. Deplorable behavior. If this idiot is the face of Minetta Lane Theatre, i suggest Minetta retrain this individual in learning how to deal with the public. He was a...
