Parva Bakeshop and Cafe — Restaurant in New York

I was excited to find out this place was in my new apartment neighborhood. Everything they make is in house and thus truly artisanal. The sourdough bread had the perfect crunch, with egg white lettuce tomato as my breakfast sandwich. The honey chipotle side sauce was delicious. They gave me this as an extra side sauce to go with the beef empanada and green chile/jalapeno sauce I ordered. Also the orange juice was fresh squeezed and placed into plastic bottles similar to Naked brand juices and other organic juices. Most cafes put them in this clear plastic cups with straws and they get a weird refrigerator taste. Also the chocolate chip cookie was to die for, soft, utterly decadent amount of chocolate, and moments of a bit of crunch. They bake the bread everyday and other items every other day so everything is extra fresh and crunchy. No rubbery pastries here. Anna Marien who served me behind the counter was very friendly, came over to talk to me and shared how she and the owners were Columbian and they also owned the extremely clean and bright laundromat attached. Also I like how casual yet fun the decor is. A definite standout in terms of experience and ambience compared to other establishments in Jackson Heights (so far) I look forward to many weekends working on my laptop enjoying all their menu items (over time) and soaking up all the west and south sun they receive in the big windows. Alsonlets not forget the beautiful view of NYC you get when walking in...

I came here with high hopes thinking ok !!!! This is gonna be great im excited given all the fanfare on social media. I really have to give this a try.. I was very disappointed.. I drove all the way there with such high hopes only to find . fly's Inside the casings of where they keep the Croissants and breads. None of it displayed with heat or sanitary precautions .. osha would have a field day . Secondly, whatever is made for the day of thats not bought out by customers is refrigerated and placed out for a second day . You can absolutely taste the refrigeration. I get it the costs of having a bakery is high . The social media postings are misleading .. My ham and cheese croissant had to be warmed up, it didn't come warm it was made with just regular cheese and here I thought, oh, this is gonna be artisanal .. Im sorry , but paris baguette has this down to a science this place does not . The cakes they make in a glass jar might be made every single day.But what ever is not bought is sitting in the fridge for the next couple of days.. Very disappointed in this place period. The owners might put their heart and soul into thier craft but it's the consumers who really need to feel like WoW!! this place is Great and the food is wonderful, but it's not... I will never revisit this establishment ever...

Since it started in the area, my friends and family have always been customers. We love your products and attention. But this morning I had the worst experience, I felt discriminated against for being Latina, I went in and sat down for a few minutes to look at the menu to have breakfast with my family, while my husband parked the car. It had not been 5 minutes and an employee approached me and told me that I had to leave the place because some Americans were coming who needed the table, and I did not take my order, I told her that it was illogical because I arrived first before them and that I was looking at the menu to order. she insisted that she had to pick me up from the table, she was very rude, there was a line and so why do they have tables with QR codes on the table? and she was so daring to answer me in front of everyone that the same thing happens in restaurants. It's not a restaurant! But since I am Latina, I had to leave there because an American family arrived. What a bad experience. The employee was also hispanic... I will never recommend this place, I will take it upon myself to post my bad experience everywhere. I will also call 311 and file a formal report. Do not come to this place where they discriminate and are not clear about their rules. Total...
