I went here yesterday evening for a friend's birthday and got some appetizers and frozen rum drinks. The drinks are actually very tasty and could probably mess you up if you aren't careful. That's actually a good thing and is probably one of the few things I liked about this place. The young lady who served us initially was very kind and actually so was the waiter who took her place when she went on break. However, when the appetizers came out, I went to reach for a piece of it and the second drink I got (Tropical frozen Mojito) got accidentally knocked over by my elbow and completely spilled onto the floor. I had barely had much of this drink as it was just brought out a few minutes before that. So, I told the guy waiter about the mess in the floor and if it would be possible if I could get another drink because of the accident and was kindly told no because I dropped it. I also asked if I could at least not be charged for it and again was told no because I dropped it. I'm not sure if they possibly thought I was drunk or trying to get a free drink out of them, but I found it very odd that rather than replace the drink that probably has an 80% markup and is only $10 you would take the chance of having an upset unhappy customer sit until our dinner was over without a drink, and also risk a bad review. I've never had a drink not replaced if accidentally dropped or if I didn't like it and I go to new restaurants at least every other weekend. So okay food, good drinks, service could have been much better.
Edit Since Owner Reply- I appreciate the apology and I get it I know it is an unusual situation. Thank you for the response and will give Mojitos another chance at some point...
Read moreI have to say Mojitos impressed me and I'm definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu.
Ambiance There are no reservations, walk-in only, but we dined on a Wednesday night so not much of a crowd. It was mainly outdoor seating with individual booths. There are heaters in each one with closing doors. One thing was the fairy lights weren't working in our booth (last one towards the kitchen). Also one major thing lacking, there was no music! Maybe during the weekend there is. But it was so quiet and I was missing that vibe to enjoy my drinks and food. Inside the main building is pretty plain and also small. I was wondering what it looked like pre-covid and how many people/tables they could actually fit in there. The booths outside are far prettier with the decor.
Food I feel I can always judge a place by how well their guacamole and rice and beans are. Guac didn't disappoint and I love the plantain chips instead of regular tortilla. We ordered the fried red snapper and churrasco steak. The snapper was so delicious and flaky. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. It was juicy. Rice and beans was flavorful and the maduros/ sweet plantains were crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside. The salad was also fresh with chunks of apple.
Drinks Of course we had to try a bunch of their drinks, after all it's named Mojitos. I tried the lychee, coconut (my fav), and the tropi (mix of mango and passion fruit) as my smoky drink. My friend had the strawberry shake and strawberry mojito, both delicious.
Overall for the prices, ambiance, hospitality, food portions and drinks this place deserves more than 5 stars. Can't...
Read moreMy family and I came to Mojitos to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from college. We had a fantastic time. We enjoyed great and well seasoned food. The chefs do an exquisite job of presentation. My wife recommends the fried red snapper with sides. The plate looks as if it is a work of culinary excellence. I enjoyed the seafood and pasta dish which included generous portions of shrimp, calamari and oysters. My ten-year-old god son thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Everyone else equally enjoyed their dishes including rave reviews for a vegetarian burger with vegetarian bacon that my brother in law and his wife had. Mojitos is the place for you, your date, coworkers or family if you savor really good food, hearty drinks and an upbeat atmosphere.
One of Mojitos greatest assets is Katherine who served our party of ten people. Her graciousness and professionalism equal her very pleasant demeanor. She prepared our tables with attention to detail. She added congratulatory balloons which impressed my daughter and wife. Throughout the meal, Katherine was vigilant in service despite multiple requests. She maintained a vey warm smile which enhances her natural beauty. Should you go to Mojitos with a party, ask for...
