Perista Cafe — Restaurant in New York

I've had an issue both times I've tried ordering from here. The issue is really more that I don't think they should be on DoorDash if they're using an independent system once the order is placed - the first time, the order never showed up, but it took forever to handle with DoorDash customer service due to the order being tracked on their independent system and never updated on doordash's system. This seems intentionally exploitative to me right out of the gate, but today I tried again because they were a good option for a specific item I was seeking. They sent the wrong item, and it was again not possible to manage the issue through DoorDash, due to this place using their own separate system. I called the restaurant directly too, and I want to note here an apology to whoever I spoke with - it was my intention to not be rude, and I don't think I did well at that. I'm sorry for how that came across; it was not what I would have chosen to say if I were able to think more clearly about it. My frustration is really with the fact that I pay this monthly DoorDash fee because I can navigate the app easily and I don't want to learn any new UI or anything, and so for this kind of sus situation to be so frustrating both times - I feel strongly that they should either not be on DoorDash, or they should switch to using doordash's own system.

I honestly choose to give 0 stars due to the fact that I always go in for oatmeal and I keep deciding to give them a try but I honestly won’t be giving this place any more chances because the many times I ordered my oatmeal they don’t care enough and give you something soggy cold and flavorless and lets not talk about the smell it had once !!!!! This is a disappointment save your 8 dollars for these people to run a business you need to make sure presentation and customer satisfaction is your #1 priority even something simple as my coffee is nasty the only employee which I haven’t seen for over 2 weeks who cared about customer satisfaction and presentation was the girl with the green eyes I even told her once about this complain I’m writing so I won’t recommend this place to anyone it’s over priced , and the food is nasty just a...

This place is really hit or miss. I order delivery every other weekend and they usually forget something in the order or I feel like I’m being ripped off. It’s honestly my fault for ordering things I could cheaply make myself. This week I order an avocado toast with bacon egg and added tomato which came to $9. I also ordered an almond cappuccino. The cappuccino tastes completely different from before, like it was made from a machine, and the avocado toast was embarrassing. I expect fresh avocado for that price point and since they only offer a “spread”, I was expecting a HEAPING portion. They also forgot the tomato...this place just newly reopened and it’s not making an impression on someone who frequently orders out. I guess I just need to learn my lesson and make my own food.
