Duane Reade — Local services in New York

The security officer that works on Saturday 1/25/2025 evening approached me outside in front of the parking lot to ask me why I didn't go to the cashier counter. I was confused because I walk in the store and greeted him with a "Hi". Then I walk to the back of the store to the pharmacy counter to pickup my medication that I had to pay for because my insurance didn't cover. Then walk towards the front door and stop in front of security officer. I put my medication away and closed my jacket and put on my hood because its winter. To be chased half way to the corner by their security officer assuming I appear to look like I was stealing. "I'm a local business owner" LMAO Disgusting Duane Reade!! #1 everything is lockup. #2 They always mad if you ask them to open the display. #3 Now they security chase the local that shop there & Pickup Medications assuming they stealing with out seeing anything. This store needs a lot of help and proper training I have been coming here for years. It's really looking bad. I'm happy the Pharmacy Cashier on this day was nice even though I had to pay for my medication on my side. But, It does hurt to be a local that comes weekly to get medication pickup to be treated like a criminal with no type of proof of any viewing of that behavior in front of their family. FYI I didn't even view any products on any shelf. I walk in pickup medication and walk out! also, I was asked to fill out the survey because they need good feedback. SMH LMAO are your FORREAL. Great service should be given and earned! I know it's going to be extremely uncomfortable every time I pick up...

I placed an online order to pick up at the store. I was in the store ready to have my package, but the package was like "already picked up". I asked for help with this problem and it was a disaster! Mrs. Team Leader Chystin L told me that I had to wait for her to take some photographs, when she finished taking the photographs she simply ignored me and shouted "I'm hungry, I'm going to break." I was very surprised and he left me talking alone, the cashiers tried to help me but they didn't give it much importance, they were impressed by the attitude of the team leader. I was finally asked to come back another day....

Showed up today for my COVID booster shot appointment. The pharmacy was closed and a printed sign that it wouldn't be open for the day. I'm frustrated that my time was wasted and no one bothered to even send out an automated cancelation or offer to reschedule my appointment. Management needs to do better when things arise that lead to the pharmacy closing for the day.

EDIT: Same thing happened to my friend a few weeks later, except now there's a sign that says it's just closed. Absolutely try to call the pharmacy first if you're trying to make an appointment because otherwise you'll end up...
