I've lived in NYC for over 10 years and have never had a worse experience. Literally dollar pizza is better for hospitality, communication, and a friendly environment.
We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience left us disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive. When we inquired about the "Family Style" menu, the waiter simply replied, "We can talk about it," but never actually explained anything. The lack of communication was frustrating, and we felt like we were being brushed off rather than welcomed.
On top of that, the restaurant’s environment was unbearably cold. Granted, we visited in January, but the door kept opening, making the entire space freezing. We had to eat with our winter coats on, which made the meal far from enjoyable.
The biggest surprise came with the way the "Family Style" dining was handled. Instead of being an optional way to enjoy the menu, it was mandatory for our large group. Even worse, we weren’t able to select which dishes we wanted. At $50 per person, we expected at least some choice, but instead, we were served an overwhelming amount of food—tons of wings and nine full-size pizzas for a group of nine people. We ended up taking five of them home, which felt extremely wasteful.
Overall, between the dismissive staff, poor communication, uncomfortable setting, and excessive (and non-optional) portions, we wouldn’t return. If you're looking for a warm, welcoming dining experience with flexibility in ordering, this is not the place.
The Brussels sprouts were very good, the pizza was tasty. We were just excited to try this place, and they treated us like garbage. We wanted to try their whole menu but had to go...
Read moreMy friends and I were really looking forward to a dinner here but our friends fell ill the morning of our meal, so we cancelled. Imagine our surprise when we were charged a $150 fee for not showing up to our table! We were told that it’s their policy, as they only have 24 seats and so they did not, apparently, turn over the table to anyone all night and just left it empty. I feel like that’s on them for not allowing walk-ins to sit down when we have already, hours ago, hours before dinner service even began, forfeited our table. I also note that they never called to ask if we were on our way or still coming, indicating that they must have known we were not coming and had cancelled. I suppose they in the future I’ll force my dining companions to show up to dinner even if they are actively vomiting and experiencing the stomach flu, since this restaurant doesn’t understand the concept of keeping service moving and turning tables over once a diner has cancelled their reservation. And if you think that this our fault for having agreed to something in fine print, I would point out to you that that very same fine print says that the restaurant is allowed to waive any and all cancellation fees at their discretion and chose in this instance, despite being given ample notice, to enforce their draconian policy. One may think the world has become more sympathetic to illnesses in this post-pandemic world… one should...
Read moreOverall, it was a nice experience, but not the best.
Service: Servers were mostly attentive and friendly, some seemed rushed and annoyed at us. They were able to seat us inside on a Friday night without reservation. Food came out pretty quickly. We were finishing up our drinks past closing time and the staff wasn't being pushy about us leaving.
Food: Special pie (sausage and caramelized onion): The toppings themselves were delicious. Unfortunately the execution was poorly done. Our pizza was dripping with moisture, maybe from the cheese or something, but the slices were completely wet in the middle so the cheese just slid off when we tried to take the slices. The crust was soggy and it was impossible to eat a slice by hand since it was soaked through.
Vegan red pizza: Surprised at how tasty this was. The sauce was well done, fresh, acidic, tangy, and sweet. Would've loved more of an olive oil drizzle to balance out the sauce but overall great. The crust was perfectly done. Crispy, chewy, and puffy. 4.5/5
Ambience: We sat inside and it was comfortable. Warm lighting, the music's not blasting or distracting from ambience. You're decently spaced from other tables so you don't feel like you're crammed. You can see the pizza oven from the dining area which is fun too.
Price: For 3 people, we shared 2 pizzas and had 2 drinks each (beer/wine) and it ended up being about $48 each...
