Oh my goodness. It's been awhile since I've been to Canes. My only experiences with the chain have been in Ohio, Virginia and Louisiana. This is the first time I've hit up one here in NY and everything about the trip was a pleasant experience.
Service, the ladies behind the counter are friendly and polite, gives off the aura of being in Chick Fil-A, a homey kind of vibe. Didn't take long for my order to be ready too. Went with the simple 3 tender combo, nothing extravagant.
Atmosphere, they chose a good location being the large building that was once a Burger King before it fell victim to the pandemic. They decked up the upstairs area real good. Attention to detail with various NY cultural designs around the 2nd floor is a vibrant touch.
Food, the chicken tenders hit so good, like Tyson or Ali putting an opponent to sleep good, the chicken strips are very tender and tasty without need for the sauce but the sauce definitely does elevate it. Toast was firm with a hint of garlic tolerable enough so that it doesn't come off as strong. As for the fries, yeah they're a tad bit on the salty side but they're the right type of crunch so the sodium didn't put me off from them.
I gotta give it up to the Ave, they have been landing some awesome fast food spots lately and they hit another home run with Raising Canes, can't ask for...
Read moreI have gone to this Raising Cane’s several times but the way I was treated by the employees was completely unacceptable. I was next in line and there were two cashiers. When one was free, I told the cashier associate that I was going to wait for the other cashier. She then started to get upset and I just kept repeating that I was waiting for the other cashier. The female manager then came and the cashier told her what happened. Then, the manager asked me what was going on and asked me if there was a “problem” and I repeated at least three times that I was just waiting for the other cashier. She then pretended that she didn’t hear me and put her hand to her ear, even though I spoke loudly and the cashier told her what happened, and went around the counter to me and asked me what the problem was. I told her that I wanted to go to the other cashier and I told her that it wasn’t a big deal. She then proceeded to go around the counter and started to laugh at me with the cashier that I didn’t go to (which you can see in the store cameras). I gave away the food that I ordered and I am never going to any Raising Cane’s branch again, even though I have been a loyal customer before. I recommended this restaurant to others, but obviously from now on, I will tell other people what happened to me there today so they...
Read moreNegative experience - I visited with 3 kids in tow and just asked to use the restroom so they could wash their hands before eating. One girl told me its their policy not to give out the bathroom code - fine. So I asked if she would help to hold the door so the kids could wash their hands in turns. No - she's going on break. So I asked if she could send someone up to help. No one ever came. How do you have a "restaurant" with indoor seating that sells FINGER food and you don't let people wash their hands??? Does the staff wash their hands?? Since they like to gatekeep bathrooms for no reason?? The food isn't even anything special - just crusty old chicken, the bread tastes funny, and my niece says the sprite tastes like tap water. Sorry kids, I'm not...
