I came there on a Friday about last week and I was appalled. The cashier lady was African American had short dreads/twists, tattoos and a harsh/ deep voice. She rung up a young kid for my order ( her mistake ) and since he used a gift card, she said she wasn’t able to return his funds. Instead of saying oops and moving on she literally proceeded to curse at the kid saying “ yo this fi-ng kid” etc etc as if the whole world is over . And I told her to politely calm down he is a child. This kid was like 11 or 12 but she didn’t care at all. She obnoxiously extended her neck over the counter like a giraffe, laughing at him in a mocking way as if telling him “hey you swiped the gift card already, can’t do nothing about it NEXT! “ ….no solution provided. He was Totally scared and in shock, and about the cry. In the end, I bought him a new gift card and the lady clocked out the same time around/at 4pm. The kid told me it was his first time at a chipotle and I felt for him, young man trying to get lunch on his own after school and had to experience something so demeaning. He told me he was just going to get some lunch at home. The security there , tall black man witnesses the whole thing and says nothing! Tall man who is supposed to have some type of authority, he says “I’m not the manager and sometimes these school kids come in and don’t listen.” Sure thing man, if that helps u sleep at night. But, you don’t have to be a manger to stand up for injustice especially when the incident occurs 2 feet away from you. kindness goes a long way. And in this instance the boy was so calm and not being rowdy at all, so why did he deserve that treatment for an accident ? Whatever she is dealing with or not, totally disgusting, disrespectful, and uncalled for . I know for a fact if that kids’ parent was there , the lady would’ve had a whole different reaction smh. God knows. I pray for compassion for this “lady” , and the whole team imagine if it were your younger sibling, your child, or even you as a young person. God protect our young ones from the evil ones who are...
Read moreEdit: After a little over two months I decided to come back to this location on another lunch break to see if I could find a solution to the problem I first had, where I wasn't sure what the drink sizes (not by fluid ounce measurements) were since they weren't explicitly written anywhere. Sure enough, I did learn that the 32 oz drink is considered a "Large". So, now that the problem is fixed and I know for the future, I can return whenever I like knowing what to say. So, my review has been updated to 5 stars, as I had said. I had the Barbacoa Tacos this time, and they were even better than the Steak. Plus, I was laughing so hard when I heard the Mexican version of the James Bond theme playing when I was on line. :D Either way, my original review will remain intact below, but the negative portion will be removed since that problem was fixed.
I came here earlier this afternoon on a lunch break, and wanted to eat here ever since it opened. This was the first time I had ever eaten at Chipotle, or any restaurant that offers tacos and similar fare, for that matter. I had, however, scouted out the menu on the Friday the store opened.
I had the Tacos with just Steak and Lettuce, since I really don't like the other additions that come with it. The food was put together in a flash (though that might have just been because I asked for so few ingredients). I was apprehensive at first, since I saw the prices and thought that basically $10 dollars was too much if I was going to eat such a plain meal, but was very pleased to see that they had actually charged much less (the restaurant refers to this as a "three pointer"). This food was delicious, and the steak was seasoned with the right amount of spicy kick. On top of this, the fact that this store offers both Pibb Xtra AND Barq's Root Beer is awesome, since I basically never see those particular sodas anywhere and I love,...
Read moreI just came from the chipotle an hour ago. I was so excited that they put a Chipotle on Jamaica Ave, I live around the corner so it is super easy for me to get too. The good thing is that the wait was not long, however when I was placing my order. There was mass confusion, not because of the order. But it was because the employees don’t know what they are doing. I order three soft chicken tacos, a burrito bowl and a kid quesadilla. The girl taking my order didn’t know how to make a quesadilla so she asked one of her fellow employees who then snatched the thee soft tortillas and put cheese on all of them to make quesadillas. At that point, that confused the original girl that took my order so I told them my order again. The manager came over rushing the girls to take orders quicker, and I had to repeat my order again to the manager. If I am not mistaking you guys just opened why didn’t you have lettuce. I was told that there was only lettuce for the salad and if I wanted it they would give me that. But at this point that is ridiculous. I get home and I start to get my food and me and my son chicken was super spicy it was burning the roof of my mouth. Why was it so spicy???? I never had this problem with any other chipotle. I will keep going to 71st and Austin street to get my food done correctly. I understand that this chipotle just opened however given the neighborhood I was hoping for better. Ladies and gentlemen when you work together you get better results, which in return will make people want to come back. Also, those ladies should curve their mouth it is not nice to disrespect the customer when you are the one who don’t understand what the order was...
