My favorites are the Baigan Bhartha, Bhindi Masala, Lamb Boti, and Shrimp Methi Malai, but that is personal preference. I really haven't had anything that I didn't like, just some better than others.

A few tips based on other's comments:

a) if you like some heat in your frankie you can ask for spicy when you order. It is not a challenging heat level but adds a different and complimentary taste to the filling.

b) Someone talked about not receiving napkins. They are in a container on the right side of the counter. Grab a few!

c) Lots of talk about nowhere to sit. This is DEAD WRONG. To the left of the entrance there is an opening to a bar next door. If you are there for lunch you may go in there and eat, with or without asking. The bar is not active at that time. Of significant additional importance there are two bathrooms available in this space. The room supposedly has wifi but I could not get it to work on a couple of tries. So if you are there for lunch, particularly by yourself, bring something to read.

The room itself has a funky vibe. Nothing beautiful but comfortable for a quick lunch. I have been here at dinnertime only once. The bar was open and again you could bring...

to preface, I absolutely hate leaving a negative review for this place. I love their food and have visited countless times over the past three years and am generally always very satisfied.

unfortunately, I visited yesterday and about three hours after eating, I was struck with the worst food poisoning of my life. i was up all last night with it, almost went to the hospital for it, and have spent my entire day in bed trying to curb the vomiting. while I would say it may just be a bad batch, it happens, I also had food poisoning back in february from here (much less painful than this one but food poisoning nonetheless). I always get the chicken makhani and the malai and throughout my days, usually don't get the chance to eat until dinnertime, so there's no way it was from anything else I've eaten during the day. while I gave it another shot after february, I think this has put the nail in the coffin for me and I unfortunately don't think I will be eating at roti roll again.

great food, quick service, but a non zero chance of getting nasty...

There was a period in my life, lol, I'll stop there. Any who, I absolutely love Indian food. Love it love it love it. So I was excited to try this place and I was not disappointed. The area in which one places their order can become a bit cramped if there are multitudes of people. Luckily, I've gone when its pretty empty. In the picture, I had the shrimp methi malai frankie, spicy but soo good, so much flavor. It was a good change from my usual chicken tikka masala (from other Indian restaurants). Along with the shrimp frankie, I ordered a side of their mimosa. A whole bunch of fried goodness that had potatoes and I believe chick peas, don't quote me. Another time I went, I had their infamous, to me, lollipop chicken that was juicy and again, full of wonderful flavors. When my nutritionist gives me the go ahead to partake in fried food again, if she does, I will be coming back to try their...

The roti itself is well made and tastes fresh, the filling was not so great. I ordered the Chicken Makhani with added Spinach, samosa chaat, and mango lassi drink. Ate it at nearby Morningside Park since the Cathedral garden is closed on weekdays. Firstly I ate the chaat, the channa/ garbanzo beans were well cooked but there was no crunch, spice or tang from the samosa crunch and sauces. The roll was nice and warm but lacked structure so was hard to eat, and was very messy, as it wasn’t rolled tightly. And they cooked the spinach in- I was hoping it would be fresh to add crunch and keep the wrap stiff so I could bite into it. Was sort of just curry in a burrito wrap without other elements for contrast. I like Indian food that hits all the different parts of the palate and the crunch. This was not it (pls excuse the bad nail polish)

Tried this new Frankie place while visiting NY. The menu is simple yet good enough option. When we went it was empty and they were mostly fulfilling delivery orders. We ordered 4 rolls to go but it’s a mess if you want to eat in a car bcz it’s hot and it melts making everything to fall apart so be careful if you are eating on the go and take lots of tissues. Chicken Makhani roll- 5/5 ( this was good , loved the chicken taste) Chicken malai roll-3/5( this was no malai but just another dry version on makhani) Masala anda roll- 4/5( this was good) Shrimp Methi malai roll-2/5( they boiled the shrimp and put the the methi malai curry from the fridge it was not at all infused flavors- wouldn’t recommend) You can give it a try but other Kathi roll places I had earlier were better than this!

Frankly Not A Frankie I visited all the way from Brooklyn to uptown for this roll. But I was disappointed by the efforts staff made to serve me my order. There’s a culture difference! Can’t expect a man who never had a Frankie in life serve my Frankie. This is just Roti + vegetable or meat wrapped together. Let’s talk about good things first: Pricing & Filling was fine. Unsatisfactory element was thin Roti (as the name suggests) / not laccha paratha, no seasoning, just a basic green sauce. Don’t order shrimp popcorn, it was not crispy or covered well with batter, oily and very bland. They don’t have good complimenting sauce options. In short, don’t make efforts to go to this place, if you happened to be in the area. Grab a bite!
