It's a pandemic, I get it. You don't want to have too many on staff with just some limited dining. But the people that are getting shifts should be the servers that actually serve. Myself and a few friends, (4 of us total) waited 30 mins for a table the other day (we understood and didn't worry about it). Our "server" came over fairly quickly, gave us some cups and water, then told us to told to scan the QR code for the menu. I love this feature, actually. It was about 10 mins before the "server" came back to take our order we had all chosen our food and drinks. With each person there was a statement of "I have to check," "We don't have that," and "We're not serving that now" (the last one is the difference between Lunch/Brunch menus, but both had different chicken sands with items used in multiple other items - ok, but silly). If you have common misconceptions on a website with multiple headings, you as the server have the responsibility to funnel your guests to the right parts of the menu. If you're restaurant is out of menu items, it is the responsibility of the server to inform the guest ahead of time that things aren't available. It happened on the initial order and the refill order (20 mins after the initial order, but then took 10 mins to find out). The sever even sent another server to deliver the late refill. Listen, the food is good the selection (as advertised is good). I liked this place before the pandemic and I wasn't unhappy with my eats. The only difference is that they have only limited outside seating. They need to make sure that fast, efficient and personable people are serving. Not drop-in, dissappear, unaware "servers" there for a paycheck and pity tips. I will give 30% COVID tips left and right, but if you're just phoning it in as a server when there are a million unemployed people in this city, you're getting what you give, not as much...
Read moreAmsterdam cafe isnt what it used to be. Previously was the kind of place that you could take your family and friends but now you should only take friends the restrooms leave much to be desired, but what else could you expect from a place that is barely accessible? Sometimes I would come here around the holidays when family was in town, but they started treating my family very badly just because were white. It was kind of discouraging to have to tolerate that kind of bigotry just because my skeleton is showing, but on nights that aren’t Halloween I’m sure it would be fine or will it well I will definitely post an update to let you know if anything changed however, I am not optimistic because when I give places establishments an opportunity to change, they rarely do I guess we should just leave people when they show is who they are and maybe we should be more accepting of the differences that exist between people because if we all did that, then it truly would be an amity hall.
I will not return to this place, because Woody Allen wasn’t here he won the academy award...
Read moreThis is the craft beer bar for beer posers. It is barely, and I mean barely, a step up from your typical NY Irish pub. There is a large tap list but they are mostly big market craft brands like abita, lagunitas, and for such a big set of taps it is remarkably limited, basically lagers and ales. So truth be told I'd rather drink abita than Miller lite. And there were a few things there worth trying, just hard to live with the disappointment of so many taps and only one or two interesting choices. And the view from the street is a bit of a scam, as each tap is duplicated making it appear to have twice as many.
Food is mediocre to bad pub grub . Service is friendly and quick. Good free wifi with a password. Sports screens surround but did not interpose. Noise level was quite nice, though it was a Monday. Monday is half price wings, the Buffalo flavor were tolerable, though "as spicy as you can make 'em" was not impressive.
Not sure what else this neighborhood has to offer, but I don't think I would...
