In a very short time, this has become my family’s favorite restaurant. We live right in the same building, so this is dangerous!
The Dibi Senegal, mechoui and red snapper are our go-to entrees. You can’t go wrong with any of the sides. Treat yourself to one of the homemade juices or nonalcoholic “cocktail” blends. The menu expands on the weekend, so I’d advise a Saturday trip for your first time. Saint Louis keeps late hours, so a midnight supper is no problem at all.

The owner is a refugee from the world of New York finance, and the place is a family affair, with her mother heading the kitchen and other family members in various roles. The northern Senegalese town for which the restaurant is named, and where the chef is from, is known as the capital of gourmet food in Senegal, itself known as the home of some of the best food in Africa. Lucky us to be able to taste all this right in...
