First time around was lovely. Food was great staff was friendly and welcoming. On Sunday around 6:30pm our server Tarsis L was very rude and had a nasty attitude. Mind you it was just me, my mom and sister, the restaurant was empty. We ordered 3 appetizers and drinks to start. I ordered a watermelon Moscow mule which was delicious. The other drink was a blood oj margarita which tasted watered downed and just wasn’t as tasty as the first time around. I immediately returned the drink full explaining to my server that the drink just wasn’t good as the first time around. I would like to exchange it. The server caught an attitude immediately and rolled her eyes. I would understand if the drink was halfway done but I returned it as soon as I received it. After I told her I’m a bartender I’ve worked in the restaurant industry she walked away with the drink for an exchange. Took awhile to bring the new drink. When she brought out our appetizers to the table almost throwing the plates with attitude I said thank you. She didn’t respond and walked away. No enjoy or you’re welcome. I’ve never experience this kind of unprofessionalism at a restaurant. After we were ready to order our entres she saw our plates on the table that were ready to be picked up for about 15-20mins. She went to the bathroom came back and started picking up all the glasses and plates on the other empty tables. We had to order the check and go dine in elsewhere. It’s unfortunate to have disrespectful staff ruin the whole experience...
Read moreTerrible, overpriced spot. The portion sizes and quality of ingredients are not commensurate with how much they charge for their dishes. Many of their appetizers are 15+ dollars and for tapas sizes. We ordered drinks and barely any alcohol in them. The bill at the end of the night was astounding and we left hungry, completely dumbfounded over how overpriced it was. The waitress couldn't really be pleased to be working either. I wondered why, on a Saturday evening with gorgeous weather, there weren't more people. Only 3 tables filled at 7pm.
Now I know why. You'll pay an arm and a leg here, small portions for city prices. You're better off going to the slew of restaurants in the neighborhood that's way more affordable and friendly if you're on a budget. After the first three appetizers (cheesy bread, smashed potato balls and terrible empanadas with a weird hot and sour sauce) we decided NOPE, not having any entrees! Because it will be an overpriced disaster.
Thoroughly check the menu before going because to me, the only thing I think decently priced was the burger. This place was just not it for me, considering I had high...
Read moreAs a long time fan of Saravá Modern Bistro, I wonder where I should start reviewing one of my favorite restaurants in Bay Ridge Brooklyn?? I can start by telling you about the delicious food, or the cozy atmosphere on its dining room, the adorable backyard, or the wonderful hosts and owners, Rafaela and Chef Leo, who have become family with how often they’ve hosted our many special occasions.
But, let me start at the drinks! 🍹If you’ve never had a Caipirinha, run don’t walk to Saravá and order their Caipirinha flight and taste 5 different ones! The Prosecco Pop is the perfect Summer drink and if you’re a beer fan, our favorite is the Saravá IPA on draft.
Food-wise, I’ve got 2 dishes on repeat: The Yucca Gnocchi and the Bob de Camarao - each hearty dish is perfectly executed each time you visit. We’re there often so at this point we’ve had everything on the menu but those two dishes have a special place in our hearts. All the appetizers are delicious. And don’t pass on dessert … order the Brazilian Carrot Cake or the Flan … you’ll thank me later!!
If you haven’t found this gem, run don’t walk and...
