Seven — Restaurant in New York

I live in the neighborhood and wanted to try Seven. I saw on their website a special 'happiness at home' option, which included baked chicken, corn bread, collared greens, candied yams, peach cobbler, and wine (homemade soda was another alternative). We ordered it on Thursday for delivery tonight (Sat).

Seven was excellent about communication. I got an email with the expected delivery time. The restaurant called me to let me know it was running a few minutes late as the peach cobbler was still in the oven. I even got a call later in the evening to see how I enjoyed the meal! Great service.

The meal itself was scrumptious. Everything was piping hot upon delivery. We really enjoyed the meal, everything tasted fresh and homemade. The portions were good - we have leftovers for tomorrow.

We just ate here and had the most delightful experience. Classic brunch menu but with a little twist. Everything is freshly made so that may mean a little wait but absolutely worth it. The chef also engaged with us and let us know exactly what was in each dish to make it so special. There is so much love and pride in this menu And you can taste it with every bite. If I had one complaint it was that the Bloody Mary was a little strong for my taste, but that’s just a personal preference. Oh, and the complimentary homemade biscuits were up there with maybe the best I’ve ever had! If you want a great, homey experience with good fresh food can...

I ordered a to go meal right near closing. The owners stayed well past closing to prepare our meals. They called me to confirm my order and apologized for the delay. Apparently they were very busy that night. Because of the delay, they gave us some “extras” in the to go bag. Food was wonderful! After we ate, I received another call from them just to make sure we were satisfied with our meal. I was so appreciative of them going above and beyond to fulfill our order at the end of the night. And on top of that, the food was excellent. Next time I’m in town I’ll definitely come back to Seven Restaurant....
