The theater is all brand New. Seating is comfortable and the show was wonderful. I enjoyed it very much. Harry Lennix (director) of the play "A SMALL OAK TREE RUNS RED" and the cast Yusef Miller* Kyra Riley* & R.J. Foster* were all simple wonderful. I laughed, I cried, I felt the entire range of emotions a theater goer should experience watching a thoughtful artistic piece. BRAVO...

Beautiful theater. Went to see Reparations, I had an amazing experience. The staff was very professional and courteous, seats were comfortable and best of all, there were many tableaus in the lobby... beautiful display of African American heritage and culture. Will be going back soon!

Came for a play and I had a great time. There was complimentary sparkling water and wine . Everyone was accommodating. The seating was first come first served . The box office was open to answer all questions and there was a mini biggie exhibit while you waited that was pretty dope .

First class theater in central Brooklyn - They host top notch productions written & directed by Black theater professionals. Equal in quality & talent to New York's most serious Off-Broadway companies & venues such as Signature or Playwrights Horizon, SOHO Rep. Accomplished directors, cast & playwrights. Venue has limited staging ability - might be a function of lower cost productions.. Their current series has tackled race topics - very serious hard stuff. Audiences are primarily Black middle class - White theater goers would do well to take the subway to Bed-Stuy for these productions that have a lot to...

Sending Congratulations to the Billie Holiday Theater on their 2023 50th Anniversary!!! I attended their celebratory production yesterday, highlighting the amazing history of plays they’ve produced over the years — wonderfully directed by Joyce Sylvester — and a cast of many of their amazing alumni, including Denise Burse, Pauletta Washington, Kim Sullivan, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, Dyan Harvey, Peggy Alston, Harry Lennox and many others. I recommend that everyone join & support THE BILLIE HOLIDAY THEATRE an important part of Black Theater...

This place is full of rich history and it is in a beautiful community. This Theatre does so much for this community that even an outsider can feel the love and experience the many different cultures that are embraced here and celebrated. Reminds me of the good old days In NYC. Feels like home! The building is old NY beautiful with high ceilings with a gorgeous skylight. There is even a beautiful gallery in the lobby to admire...
