In response to the RUDE owner's comment below: TRUST ME!!! I won't be back. Your food was TERRIBLE!!! And I'd warn anyone coming here to please check your food because like I said and others I spoke to experienced this as well...every shrimp in the bag was mushy. Couldn't even peel the shells off because the shrimp were too soft and turned to mush when you pressed on them. And that oily so-called sauce left a burning feeling in my throat every time I had to burp after eating there. Even someone else commented in the Google reviews how salty the sauce was and a couple of others commented on how the sauce was either watery or lacked flavor. I guess those people didn't come to your place either, huh? The crazy part is, I said nothing rude and I made a point to point out the good things like the lobster tail, the flavored lemonade and the service. I gave an honest review just like others similar to mine and that was your response to me? You serve bad food and then have the nerve to have a bad attitude on top of it?!!! I gave your staff a compliment, but clearly they are not a reflection of you because you are totally RUDE!!! You don't EVER have to worry about me returning to your gross establishment when there are FAR BETTER seafood boil places to go to with better food AND better attitudes.
I must have come on a bad day because the food was awful. The mussels were huge which made them extra tough to chew. They charge for PLAIN noodles; no seasoning at all. Other places I’ve been charged the same add-on price for garlic noodles and some places give you garlic noodles for free with the meal. The seafood themselves had no flavor. I guess they rely on the sauce to give it flavor. Bad part about that is, the Cajun sauce wasn’t really a sauce. Just a lot of oil and seasoning that was very salty. The fries probably would have been good but the oil they fried them in tasted old, like it needed to be changed so it left a bad aftertaste. But the WORST of it all, every last shrimp in my bag was very mushy. I didn’t eat them because I was afraid they went bad or not sure how long they were sitting around. It was hard to get the shells off because the shrimp were too soft. The lobster tail was the saving grace. Very good and cooked to perfection. The only other 2 good things about my experience was the flavored lemonade was really good and my server was super nice. Everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful. Just wish the food matched the service. Probably won’t be back. Too many other good seafood boil spots with fresher and better...
Read moreTerrible restaurant to eat at. They have a “shaking hot” which is supposed to be their “highest level of spice” which was not hot at all. And when I complained about the tasteless and mild food the server made it seem like it was my taste buds and that it just wasn’t to my standard of spice level. Well let me use something as an example. Red franks hot is WAYYYYYYYYYY hotter than their “shaking hot” Tabasco hot sauce. Entirely hotter than their “shaking hot” so that shows you how they their food is Trash and they only have ONE spice level. And when I complained FIRST they said it was because the spice powder they ordered isn’t spicy and they don’t know what happened and they truly apologize. After receiving my $112 bill there was zero empathy showed. They did not care nor did they offer a discount for their false advertisement. I DIDNT EAT MY FOOD AT ALL. I even asked for bottle hot sauce to add a little flavor but they didn’t have that either. The food taste like water. They make Juicy crab taste like heaven. Seafood is my FAVORITE food I eat it all over the world so I know good seafood and spices and they are not the place to go at all if you like well seasoned food. If I couldn’t even eat my food that says a lot for a seafood lover like myself. I mean, pepper would’ve add more spice than what they had and they really tried to make it seem like it was bc my spice levels were so high instead in taking accountability when it was time to. It was the spice powders that changed at first then it was my spice level was too high. Either way, RUDE SERVICE AND TRASH FOOD. GO TO BOILING SEAFOOD. FRESH GOOD SEAFOOD AND WELL SEASONEDDDDDDDD LIKE THEY DO IT...
Read moreMy group of 7 people went to Shaking crab for dinner on 12/23/23 for a friends birthday and contradictory to a negative review (about the same day) we had an amazing experience!!
Our group got all different things but every single person LOVED their meal! Snow crab boil, fisherman’s platter, fish sandwich, fried pickles, garlic noodles, fried lobster tail- all things we got and absolutely enjoyed. This by no means is a healthy meal as most items are deep fried or contain lots of butter/sodium (boils), however, we went for some delicious soul food & they did not disappoint! The portions are generous (nobody left hungry) and the prices are fair.
The staff was extremely attentive and respectful. Staff was very kind in accommodating 4 separate checks. Contradictory to the negative review about the same day; we didn’t see anybody that appeared sick or coughing. Some staff members were wearing masks but that is fine with us. The restaurant was clean and the food super yummy, so yummy that i didn’t even get a pic of the food (we all dug right in!) but here’s a pic of my leftovers that I got to enjoy once home. Only complaint is that the lock to the men’s restroom could possibly be fixed so that it’s easily able to lock.
Overall a great experience, highly recommend for delicious soul food with fair prices, attentive staff and a full,...
