Worst place ever. The girl who took my order first was nice. They don’t speak English here. I bought two mango smoothies with almond milk and 3 pastries. The girl put the drinks in a plastic bag. I have one other plastic bag with the pastries on the other hand. First of all I think I was over charged. The cups were small sizes. How did everything come to $23? Fine whatever. I walk out literally less than 100 feet away the bag rips and drops and the drinks spill over the street, the cups break. I go back in explaining and I even took a photo to show and they all come out with stank faces and no compensation no sorry nothing. I show another lady the photo in my phone that I took of the spillage and she says she needs to take my phone and show someone. She’s gone with my personal property in the employee only area for 2 mins or more!!!! How do you go off with someone else’s phone!? I didn’t care I walked back in there and asked for my phone back. She brings out another lady all standing there stunned where I got so annoyed I walked out. Never coming back here. Y’all have no customer service not compensating and over charging for someone for something that you bagged up unreliably. Not to mention, the screen said $23 and some change for everything why was the total charge $26 and some change !? What’s that about?! If you want to be disserviced and miscommunicated with with subpar pastries come here.

New Colombian Bakery recently opened this week. I'm loving its proximity to the Steinway Street subway station. I find it so convenient that I'm able to grab breakfast and lunch here on my way to work in the mornings. The staff are super nice. I was asking a lot of questions on my first visit there about the various pastries they had and when they couldn't explain in English, they smartly got out their phone and google translated the answers for me! The bakery feels very spacious for the small space; the front and along the counter there are plenty of seating. They offer traditional Colombian bread, pastries, cakes and food. I've had their beef and chicken empanadas, chorizos, patatas and breads. The empanadas were delicious. The crust was nice and flaky but soft at the same time. The beef and chicken fillings were a tad dry but when you add the sauce; it's pretty great. The chorizos come with one baked potato per order. The chorizo is more on the savory side and not at all spicy. I must point out that they currently don't have a menu posted anywhere in the store or online. And the items in the display cases do not have a label, that I saw. So, it was a guessing game on how much my purchase would cost until I got to the counter. Not a huge deal but worth noting. Otherwise, I think this bakery is nice addition to this neighborhood and worth supporting.

Wanted some coffee and needed to do some work on my computer. Wanted a latino owned business (because starbucks already has taken too much of my $). Came here to have a traditional Cafe Con Leche(Coffe w milk) + pandebono (colombian cheesey bread). Both things simply delicious the way it should be(thank you so much). Two things i found were important to point out. No wifi and NO PRICES on the menu. Aside from that, lovely place, the coffee was great and pandebono fluffy and delish but unfortunately the fact that they dont have prices is problematic to begin with not sure how the city has not done anything to correct this. At last, a quick snack thats not usually expensive turned out to be $8 and change for 1 coffee(american drip / not espresso) and for 2 pandebonos. You be the judge

Ordered the beef arepa which said in huge numbers $9.75. Got the check and they charged me $14 instead. I asked why does it say $9.75 on the menu and I'm being charged $14? The lady refused to speak to me about it and instead spoke spanish to my friend who then explained that they ran out of a certain arepa wrap and that they one they gave me was more expensive at $14. Is it my fault that they ran out of the usual wrap and now I have to pay extra for it? Why couldn't they have told me when I ordered that it would be extra because they ran out of an ingredient? Instead they didn't tell me anything, allowed me to believe the arepa was $9.75 which was written in HUGE numbers in the menu, then charged me more than $5 more. Then they refused to explain to me in english (I don't speak much spanish). They then refused to take off the extra charge AND charged us a 18% gratuity fee. They are out here scamming customers, writing a certain price then charging more and charging auto grat. My friend ordered their lunch special and barely ate any of it cause he said it was SO BAD. The food sucks, the service sucks, and they scam you and charge extra and refuse to charge you what the menu says. This has to be illegal in some way. Needless to say I will never be coming back. My friend will never be coming back. They will go out of business for scamming customers, charging auto gratuity, and providing horrible disgusting food and nasty nasty service and pretty much being a scamming restaurant. Do not eat here unless you want nasty service, disgusting food, and...
