I’ve been here a few times, and it’s a straight-up, dead-center 5 out of 10. No love, no hate, just food on a plate. You won’t gag, but you won’t write home about it either. Thirty seconds after you step back onto Avenue U, the only thing you’ll know for sure is that you’re not hungry anymore. No joy, no regret. Just full.
The waitstaff moves like they’ve got places to be, and the guy who took my payment had that rare, almost mythical quality—he actually seemed to like his job. Prices? Reasonable in the way that getting punched in the gut is better than getting punched in the face. The food? Imagine a truck stop cafeteria off I-95 where the cook lost his passion somewhere between Scranton and Baltimore. That’s about right.

We got two gyros which we thought we’re going to come with French fries instead the french fries were wrapped into the Gyro. The gyros were cold. The meat was not warm at all. The french fries were cold and soggy. I’m sorry to say the Giro was terrible overall. The cost for that was almost $38. Eat half of mine and threw the rest in...
