After Paris Baguette for some pastries, my wife wanted SB coffee. I am not a SB drinker by choice, but rather necessity. My wife is more boujee than me and likes paying the premium. In my house, if the matriarch is happy, so is the man. First, if you have ever visited LL and ordered through the drive-through, you might have experienced a feeling of euphoria. This is actually vertigo you are suffering and the result of the maze or labyrinth you must first traverse to get to the ordering window. Very awkward.
After placing my wife's order for a tall decaf coffee, we got to the window and I handed my wife's phone to the male LL employee, who I have affectionately named Forest. Forest scanned the app and said, "You don't have enough points." My wife clarified and explained to him she just wanted the purchase scanned for credit, not payment. Forest looked bewildered and visibly annoyed. I had to reiterate the explanation again. Although it took several moments, Forest was able to execute the request and complete the transaction.
Unfortunately, when Forest extended his arm to hand the coffee to me, my wife asked if that was a tall size. Forest said yes, this is the tall size. My wife nicely apologized and asked for the drink size to be changed to the venti size. Forest became obviously perturbed and said, "You will have to drive around to place the order again at the window." His audacity was limitless—by saying there are no cars so you don't have to wait. Exasperated, I explained that all he needed to do was make a larger size coffee and charge us for the balance. Forest, with his infinite wisdom and experience, insisted this was the only way to do this. Forest even confidently cited that this was a Starbucks policy. After several failed attempts to explain a process that would be more efficient and customer-friendly to Forest, I left feeling offended.
Offended because of the divisiveness and dishonesty of this Starbucks individual in a deluded impression of pseudo-justice. To believe it warranted to take malevolence for a customer's mistake, who has apologized for the simple indiscretion, and who has humbly requested a drink size change, is unfathomable. It clearly demonstrates the lack of professionalism and/or even humanism. A person like this should be behind the lines and not at the forefront of any customer-based corporation.
Offended that we were being singled out because a Starbucks worker took it upon himself to displace his inadequacies and exert a false sense of power on respectable hard-working members of the community out for a beautiful early Saturday morning ride for respite and relaxation.
I admit because of this overwhelming feeling of helplessness, I uncharacteristically left Forest with multiple expletives and realized I could not end this without making the community around this establishment aware of these corporate practices.
Before this literary remonstrance, I took the opportunity to review some of the reviews of this Starbucks establishment. The temperature of the water has not changed since the impetus of similar complaints. I advise patronizing another Starbucks establishment if you desire peace and tranquility in your life.
To those individuals like my wife who will continue to patronize Starbucks, you have a right to premium services if you pay premium prices. And, every customer patronizing any establishment has the right to respect and courtesy.
Signed,

Read moreThe employees have no customer service skills at all. I walked in to order there was no one attending the register. The girl by the drive thru looked at me didn’t say a word. There was another guy making coffee also didn’t say a word. After a minute of standing there, I said to the girl taking orders at the window if anyone was taking care of walk in customers. Suddenly, another guy comes from the back and tells me, “ just need to be patient”. Know how to run a business. Every customer should be acknowledged especially if standing there for a minute. As if that wasn’t rude enough, I asked for a receipt with my order and he said there was no gift receipt. I never asked for a gift receipt just a regular receipt. There’s a Starbucks in Stop n Shop which is in the same parking lot. They are more efficient...
Read moreAbsolute horrible drive through service! Ordered a hot chocolate and pistachio latte. As I pulled up, I had to wait for the drive through employee to finish his solid 2 minute texting to ring me up and hand me the hot chocolate that had been sitting there since before I pulled up. Then he continued to check his phone while my latte was sitting there, waiting to be handed to me. I didn't say a word and finally he saw it, shook his head and handed it to me. I responded, "thanks for the cold drink". Once I got to the bottom, all of the syrup was collected at the bottom. It had never been stirred and I had to throw the rest...
