Stop 1 Deli Gourmet — Restaurant in New York

Such scammers. I purchased 3 individual beers which I was told cost $7.50 when I placed it on the counter. I paid via card, but didn’t request my receipt. Shortly after I leave, I get an alert from my bank that they actually charged me $16.59 - an almost 150% upcharge. Confused, I call and ask the man how much one of the beers I got is, he says $2.50 as expected. I tell him I was overcharged and he says to come back and they’ll refund the difference in cash.

When I return, suddenly the story has changed and he says it’s $3.50 for one beer. I tell him that’s not what I was told at the counter OR on the phone just 3 minutes ago. I even show a receipt from when I was there the week before and purchased 2 of the same beer but was charged $5.20 - clearly the price IS $2.50 for one. He says that was an "error". As to why I was more than double charged for my purchase..apparently also an "error"

Just be warned if you use a card that this place will try to see how much they can get away with scamming you with. Please check the screen to make sure you’re not being charged something crazy and be sure to collect your receipt. I won’t be returning and will be disputing the charge with my bank.

Also, the place is filthy, I’ve seen rats on 2 occasions scurrying across the aisle towards the back. I didn’t pay it much attention since I only come occasionally for beer which is sealed. But if you’re actually buying food that’s made here, you should really be aware of that. It’s not sanitary in...

Avoid this place like the goddamn plague. This place is terrible. They're constantly out of the most basic items. They make up prices literally on the spot and it can vary depending on if you look like you have money or not. Some stuff is just 50% overpriced all the time. The beer is always mismatched and no prices ever labeled (again, made up on the spot to cheat you). Only reason they're still in business is cause they sell beer and the other [much better] deli on the block doesn't. Would love for new management to take over and turn this place around. Thankfully supermarket across the street finally opened and will sell beer. I hope these guys go out of business as soon...

Worst bodega experience. These people have no interest in making your order correctly and don’t even listen to you, repeated no lettuce three times and they still put it in there and left out the tomato. Check your order before you leave because they managed to get both sandwiches wrong.

Pricing is sketchy and up to mood of the guy ringing you up. if you’re vegetarian be aware that the egg and cheese tastes like bacon and the photo is how much they care about making sure the one egg used is spread evenly on the bun. They also charged 2 extra more dollars than the menu price for that sandwich (which ALSO comes with bacon). Just go...
