Four stars for good ingredients in their half margherita/half prosciutto pie. Subtract one for not enough of said ingredients haphazardly arranged...subtract another for charging $28 for said pie lacking said ingredients, and then charging another $9 for a plain ol' calzone filled only with ricotta cheese...are you kidding me?! I can get a bigger, better calzone filled with gooey cheese and saucy buffalo chicken for $7 right across the street from my apartment!
As if that wasn't enough to sour my experience, there's a plot twist too...We were hanging at a bar that has no kitchen, but they're happy to let you bring in some grub from elsewhere. When asking for menus to peruse, the bartender and two patrons hastily recommended Table 87 and all but slammed just about anything eise I asked to look at. Despite personally having favorable experiences elsewhere, we opted for Table 87, and after the pizza was delivered, the delivery person brought two extra slices for the bartender and revealed to our group that the owner was sitting just two seats over from us this whole time. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive and it's just neighborhood small businesses being friendly with one-another, but I can't help but feel a bit slighted...whatever.
After some intense games of 4v4 beach volleyball, just about anything would have satisfied our group. To literally still be STARVING after devouring two slices of pizza, however, is an unprecedented memory in my nearly three decades of pizza consumption. Unless they either (a) lower their prices, or (b) actually use an appropriate amount of toppings, I'll take my money...
Read moreThis restaurant has very poor customer service. I ordered a pizza online for delivery via Chownow and it accidently went through as pickup. I had the item in my cart as delivery but when I logged into Chownow to complete my order, there is a glitch in the Chownow system which changed it to pickup. Long and short, I didnt notice the change until after it went through.
I spent about 25 minutes calling the restaurant, calling Chownow, canceling order, replacing orders just to rectify an honest mistake to try to have this pizza delivered. The restaurant could have just delivered the pizza, but instead I had to jump through hoops to make a simple change.
Yes, I recognize that the order going through as a pickup did not charge the delivery fee which I would have gladly paid had the system not glitched, but once it went through incorrectly, the business should not have made me go through such a long, convuluted process to correct the order. They should have just delivered the pizza and written the loss off to good business. As if I was running some little scam to get out of the fee.
Well, Table 87, you got your $3.99, but now youˈve lost a customer going forward, because my time is valuable too. If this review does anything else, hopefully you lose a few more. I thought I was doing a good deed by using Chownow which I know charges lower fees to small businesses than the other grifter services, and I got punished for it.
Your pizza is good, but itˈs...
Read moreWe are loyal customers of Table 87 for many years and have recommended the establishment, including the restaurant on Third Avenue and the most newest spot, located in Industry City, During my recent visit, I ordered takeout. The staff that prepared the food were two gentlemen. They were rude and did not treat me in a professional and engaging manner. When my pies were presented, I asked for garlic, the same request that I always ask for, but this time, the server replied, in an annoying manner, " over there!" I apologized and asked again for garlic, but the roasted garlic that Table 87 is famous for. The server grunted and yelled out for an order to be bought to the front of the store. During this time, I noticed that three other patrons arrived, for take out, and were greeted nicely, and time was given to assist them with their order.
Now, I understand that the two male employees are capable of carrying out the duties of providing customer service because they clearly treated me in a rather unpleasant and uncalled manner. I did not ask for handouts.
Furthermore, my appearance was clean and sharp. My diction was clear and succinct. My manner was tempered and respectful. There was no just cause to be mistreated and to be made to feel less valued than my counterparts who patronized Table 87 at Atlantic...
