3,6 stars I bring my dog to the Pier 6 dog run often, and she absolutely loves playing fetch here! It’s a great spot for dogs to run around and burn off energy. The convenience of having the Wag Club right next door is a huge bonus—my pup loves grabbing a treat and drinking some clean water after a good play session. That said, the dog run can get a little chaotic when it's crowded, especially with some owners not paying attention to where they’re throwing balls. I’ve seen a few dogs accidentally collide because of this. It can also get a bit gross when people don’t clean up after their dogs, leaving marks on the AstroTurf. Pro tip: the best time to visit is after it rains—it tends to be less crowded and cleaner. Overall, it’s a great community spot where my dog has a blast, as long as everyone is mindful of their pups!

*UPDATE JULY 2022: they took away the rocks and laid down turf! And they added a retractable hose. Looks great. Havent taken my dog there yet! One of our favorite dog parks in the area. I’ll usually go mid-day and its pretty quiet. Maybe 4 other dogs. There have been moments where there are lots of small dogs and sometimes theres only big dogs. Owners are attentive. Our dog loves the park but we definitely need to bring a ball or frisbee to keep her moving. There arent any structures they can run around and not much exploring. But I think that is fine every once in a while considering its a HUGE plus she doesnt need a bath afterwards. We’ll wipe her down and wash her paws in the tub! In the winter it gets very cold. I think the buildings around create a wind tunnel so i recommend bundling up.

My pup had a good time, however she is still young and likes to hide out sometimes around larger dogs and there isn't really a place to do that here as it's wide open with no tables or things like that. Also she found a hole under the fence with sharp ends exposed that I had to pull her out of. Luckily she didn't get out or hurt (picture). Update 11 23 19: There is now chicken wire covering the hole, however the sharp ends are still very much exposed (updated picture)

We visited visited the first time, two days ago. I'm giving this dog run 4 stars for its size, the demeanor/behavior of the other dogs and owners, the shadiness from the surrounding trees, and the fact there were several water bowls and a water fountain that had a high spout for quick showers of the dogs and a lower spout to fill an attached bowl.

I took off one star for its dirtiness. I don't know if there's just a higher percentage of long-haired dogs here vs other turfed dog runs we've been to, or if the owners here don't regularly brush or otherwise groom their dogs, but there was an insane amount of long fur piled up on the edges (where the cement bleachers start) and all over the turf. I was there with my dog for 20 mins, and within the first couple of throws of his ball, his ball and his mouth had all kind of fur stuck to them. Every time he'd come back, I was pulling fur out of his mouth. The next day, there was visible long white dog hair in his poop.

Hopefully, there can be some kind of actual maintenance (not sure who's responsible. Parks Dept?), other than owners picking uo their dogs' poop. I have turf in my backyard, and we actually have an outdoor vacuum made specifically for turf, so it's not a...

Took my boys there today, but was disappointed when I arrived. First of all the point on the map is wrong and there is no clear direction where it is located. There is one directional sign next to the water on the pier which points towards Atlantic. The dog run is located across from the pier between Joralemon St and Furman next to the parking garage. First its a very clean and wide open run. Gravel filled with a place to water and even shower your dog/s. But unfortunately on a nice hot and sunny day there was virtually no shade. There is a raised around surround the run for people to sit, which is where the dogs preferred to hang out. The entire gravel area was exposed to direct sun light. Would have loved if they had some shade in the middle as well as stuff for the dogs to climb and...
