I will rate this based on three aspects: food, service and atmosphere. (Just like Google Maps) Let me just start off by saying that my friends go here all the time. They do! They like this as a place to hang out and eat too. So giving it a 3/5 wasn’t a rate I wanted to give but it was my experience. Sincerely, this place gave me the impression that they wanted to make sure they got every penny they could from my visit. Firstly, the server gave only one basket of nacho chips for five individuals. My friend realizing that would not be enough asked if the server could give her another. He did but managed to not inform her that that would cost her extra and would not be the given appetizer like the first small basket. Secondly, as said in previous reviews, that sauce is certainly not authentic and it is indeed made with ketchup. 🥲 Regarding the charge of extra nachos, they did this with my personal order as well. As pictured, I ordered a chicken salad. That was a genuinely dry salad with no dressing or flavor whatsoever. It was lettuce (iceberg) with corn and dry grilled chicken. I had asked the server clearly, “how much does it cost to add beans?” Instead of answering he said he would add an order of a side of beans. Turns out the side of beans was a whopping $5 extra (receipt picture included) and while the receipt says rice was included too, it was certainly not. (You can see this in video.) The extra charge also followed for the tip. Instead of giving the customer the option to tip as they seemed fit, they added the tip on the receipt. (Again, pictured.) So the food was honestly disappointing because it lacked flavor and seasoning for the chicken. My beans were just as dull. From the looks of it, I think out of my group of friends, perhaps the chilaquiles my sister ordered was the best of all the dishes. In terms of the atmosphere, the music was pretty loud (although the songs themselves weren’t too bad.) The music was louder where we’re sitting next to the bar. We did not have the option to move farther away due to our group size so the music ended up being simply an inconvenience. As you can see, the art decor is quite cool. I enjoyed seeing Selena’s portrait and the Chili ndrinas too. But definitely nothing new that one would not see in any Mexican restaurant. The service was okay— but I certainly wish the man was honest about the extra charges from the get go. Starting off with the nachos and then the side of beans. It felt dishonest of him to not let us know he would charge us extra and then tip himself 15%. 🥲 My experience overall was disappointing. I think a Mexican restaurant in Washington Heights ought to provide quality Mexican food. That wasn’t the case for us. There are other Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood or Tack trucks. I recommend checking those out before visiting this restaurant.

I would never order from this place ever again. Not only they messed up our order, they sent us possibly expired food. Their operation is extremely slopy and possibly not sanitary. My fiance and I made a pick up order here. I arrived 20 mins later and my food was ready to be picked up on their table. But all the servers were just busy taking new orders on the phone and made at least 4 groups of people and their food waiting in line. After about 10 mins, I reached out to the server directly and made them package my food before they become completely cold. The server seemed like she was rushing packaging my order. Putting things in and out of the bags constantly like she doesn't know what she is doing. So I asked straight to her face, "did you put tortillas in there?" She looked and me and said "yes." I arrived home with our food and surprise, not only there were no tortillas, they completely forgot to put our dessert which we already paid for. So my fiance called again. They made us pick up flan and tortillas in person, so I went. We even ordered additional dessert on top of it. I came back home the second time with my orders. My fiance took her first bite of the flan and she immediately spits it out and head to the bathroom. She said her flan didn't taste right at all. I smelled it and it smelled like some sort of tap water and heavy scent of refrigerator was coming from the flan itself. This flan smelled like it has been sitting in the refrigerator for weeks, possibly months. Doesn't have any individual expiration date marked on it to verify if it's safe to eat. And of course, no tortillas were included again. I am extremely disappointed. It seems like they just don't care at all. They constantly messed up our orders and even gave us questionable food that made my fiance throw up. This is possibly one of the worst dining experiences in this year. Would not recommend this place at all.

I’ve been coming here for 3-4 years it’s always my family’s go-to spot. I was here with my family tonight and left disappointed with the service. Our waitress had a huge attitude, was disrespectful to us by rolling her eyes several time we asked for something or ignored us. We attempted to liven the mood at first and even then she’d look straight at us with a straight face annoyed and rolling her eyes. The worst part is tip was already added to the bill in the end (tip should be earned not forced)….. she does not deserve a single cent. She made our mood sour at the end of our night there. We came in happy and in a good mood and left with such disappointment. I left a photo of our receipt because I think it should be known who she is at the very least since we were forced to tip and so the owners don’t let one sour server ruin their restaurant. The food is always great and all the other staff too I’ve come across throughout the years.

This taco place just opened up not long ago and I have been living around this neighborhood for over 2 years now so I know every single joint around here and trust me I can count the good places with 1 hand only but finally, about time this food is amazing. Everything is made fresh even the tortillas for the tacos, you cant get any fresher than that. So far I have tried almost the entire menu. I prefer ordering deliveries, not sure how they do it but food is always delivered before 25 minutes which is amazing considering the other places thru Seamless that take about 1 hour to send your cold food and they still get upset when you tell them. Anyways this place is great, the owner is this lady who has been cooking her entired life and has owned a few spots before so she knows what she is doing. The place is small but cozy and inviting. Not sure you would grab a table but try, maybe if you are lucky but if you do you will be very happy eating on this bright colorful tables and chairs. Try the enchiladas Suizas green sauce with Chicken or my fav al pastor 😋 Mole enchiladas is another great choice. The soups you gotta try the Chicken or pozole soups with tostadas and chopped onions, cilantro and sliced radish. All tacos are great here and orders are pretty generous so I am sure you will be set for the whole day. Oh and the wait staff is great and knowledgeable, sometimes I think they know what I wanna eat. Trust me no other places serves food like them and I have congratulated them many times cause I am glad to spend my money for something I can...
