I was hesitant to leave this review because I’ve had great experiences here before—I've visited at least four times. But my most recent visit on May 13 at 6:25 PM was absolutely unacceptable.

I came in specifically to catch the special deals on appetizers, drinks, and hookah, and made sure to order before 7 PM. My server, Paula, kindly explained she was the only one working the floor and asked for patience. I understood and placed my full order by 6:45 PM, including hookah at 6:55 PM (just before the $2 hookah deal ended). Important note: the $2 hookah is MINT ONLY, and that’s not advertised anywhere—so if you choose another flavor, expect to be charged more.

I also ordered a drink from the bartender when she came to my table at 6:58 PM.

The sweet chili wings I received were hot, fresh, and honestly delicious—9/10. The DJ was fantastic, and the music gave a great vibe. Sadly, that was the only positive part of my experience.

I never received my two shrimp empanadas, and I never got my 1 drink.

I reminded both the bartender and Paula multiple times, and even a kitchen staff member came over to ask me what I had ordered. Two different employees knew I was still waiting, and yet nothing came. Meanwhile, I watched multiple tables that arrived after me (especially groups) get all of their food and drinks without an issue. As a solo diner, this felt incredibly dismissive and disrespectful.

After waiting 1 hour and 50 minutes, I told Paula to remove anything I didn’t receive from my bill. She said it might not be possible, and I insisted she call the manager. Gabby, the manager, came over. I had to firmly advocate for myself, explaining that people who ordered after me had been served, and I had only received wings and water.

Gabby did agree to only charge me for the wings. But what really bothered me was the lack of courtesy or effort to make it right. No offer of a future discount, No offer of 1 free meal so I don't leave the restaurant hungry, not even a simple, “We’re sorry you had to wait so long.” As she was adjusting my bill, the bartender finally put my drink on the table—two hours later as I was preparing to leave. Why bring it after I’ve already asked for the check?

I physically left the restaurant at 8:45 PM, having spent two hours there and receiving only 6 wings and water. I walked out hungry, embarrassed, and annoyed. The two women at the table next to me even commented that they noticed I hadn’t received anything else. It was clear to everyone.

Frankly, this whole experience made the place feel money-hungry—more focused on big parties than individual customers. A gesture of goodwill—a free item, a compensated future meal, something—would’ve gone a long way.

Bottom line: If you're coming on a busy night or dining solo, be prepared to be ignored. What should’ve been a fun, easy evening turned into a complete joke. And no—it doesn’t take two hours to fry two empanadas and make one drink.

Save your money unless you’re part of a big group they feel is...

I recently discovered the Bleu Room, a hidden gem nestled in Sugar Hill. I was initially drawn in by the speaker outside playing banger reggae tunes, but it is also the food, live Jazz and ambience that will keep me coming back for more. This Jamaican cuisine spot has really exquisite fare to delight your palate. I love the rasta pasta, fried chicken with mac and cheese, cabbage, curry goat, chicken, carrot cake, and ginger sorrel. I newly discovered this spot, so I am working my way through the menu, my goal being to try everything! Where else can you get perfectly fried and seasoned chicken with a side of sumptuous mac and cheese for $7 as lunch special between 11AM-7PM? The Jazz Brunch I dropped in on was so enjoyable and guests can perform spontaneously.

Update: This is still my favorite Jamaican food spot in all of NYC. So far I have tried the oxtail, curry chicken, curry goat, and jerk chicken; they are all amazing! The stewed chicken comes bathed in a savory, mildly spicy, silken red gravy which I love so much, that I ask that is have its own special container so that I may savor it. I love the DJs who play music after 5pm and there is hookah lounge downstairs, and Jazz brunch every other Sunday. I love this place! My Dominican father would have loved this food too! Today, I had cabbage, Rasta pasta, and stewed chicken with gravy, then washed it down with the Jamaican beer Red Stripe. Very satisfying! The live DJ was excellent. The manager...

Decided to try the Bleu Room after reading the reviews. I went a Tuesday after work to dine in. The atmosphere is really cool, gives more of a lounge vibe than a restaurant. It was busy for a Tuesday night but that’s no problem, I thought. The sweet chili wings were amazing! Huge wings! The sliders were good but nothing out of this world. I decided to get the shrimp Rasta pasta which was REALLY good (and spicy). My partner decided to get the snapper, we ordered at 6:50pm and left at 8pm - with no snapper. The service was the worst service I have ever experienced! If you managed to stop a waiter and ask for help they will nod, walk away, and never follow up again. Asked a waitress about the snapper, she said she was going to follow up … never did. After stopping the same waitress again, she looked surprised and said “oh they never told you, we don’t have snapper”. The cherry on top: a 15% gratuity is automatically applied to your bill. This place is good if you like drinks, quick bites, and hookah. If you want to dine in…. Forget it. The food looks promising because the pasta was good, but it’s probably better to order out. I had such high hopes and I’m just so disappointed. Hopefully it was a one time thing but will never...

If you’re going here to have a nice quick meal and head out this is the perfect spot , small and cozy , with comfortable seating. If you are coming to have drinks with friends, family or co workers, not recommended. -Happy Hour margarita is super light, something like lemon water with a splash of tequila . -Rum punch is super thick and sweet , like your drinking syrup with rum. -After spending $100+ ( on food drinks and hookah) we was told we have to get up from our seat and let others sit, as if we wasn't still buying drinks. Totally ruined our night being it was super cold and we had to travel to another bar (shoutouts to Harlem nights bar very accommodating to all parties.) The manager did offer us 2 free drinks which is cool , but I do feel that was only offered because he knows that was poor service. Overall 5/10
