I do like this place, although it is overcrowded most of the time. Yesterday, however, the security and whoever seemed at least semi-in-charge, behaved very rudely. As we were there for a little with our friends and wrapping up our drinks after the last call, another friend of ours (who has just finished his shift at work) wanted to join us. I politely went and spoke to the security and asked to allow him to join us, so that we can finish our drinks. He told us that this was not possible and that this is their policy, so I asked the guy who seemed in charge (hoping not to put more pressure on the security since he seemed to not be able to make this decision), who promissed me to go to see what can be done. I called my friend to check what is happening and he told me they will not let him in and are getting all "aggressive" instructing him to move away from the entrance (which is a dark alley between the two buildings). Long story short 8 of us had to leave our drinks behind to go with our friend somewhere else. I Also, it was 12:40am and I can see that the page shows the place is open until 1:00am, so I do not understand what the problem was. (The childish high-light was the security yelling "Goodnight!" after us as we were leaving, followed by "I take it back!".) It was a very bad ending to a nice evening outing...

Nice greeter/bouncer at the entrance with a little spiel about how The Brooklyn Barge works. I'd never had my age/ID checked on my bicycle... so that was fun. The welcoming committee, the simple/raw bike rack options, and a great view of Manhattan had my hopes up.

Best part, by far, is the view.

My gf ordered a cocktail that was not gulped down with her typical enthusiasm for a tasty mixed drink... the rating offered was, "it's ok". I don't mind 12 bucks for a great cocktail, but this was not great. I ordered a favorite cider (Downeast Cider), so I was content.

Kale salad (let the hipster bs heckling start... I needed my veg) was adequate (not much to screw up - did love the pine nuts), but the tacos were a little bland/boring (shrimp & pork).

Service was ok. It was not that busy and the wait at the bar was moderate. You order food and bev there, and get a "light pager" that tips you off when your food is ready. Our light show went off within 5 min, much faster than expected.

View - great Food and drinks - eh,...

Absolutely amazing spot, come here on the weekday to beat the crowds and catch the sunset. Arguably one of the best sunset spots in NYC, and you get to drink a beer with it as well. It can get pretty overwhelming on the weekends so be prepared. Pro tip: If you come on a weekend check out this spot at night most people leave right when the sun starts to set and the city skyline at night is always spectacular. They have a food truck though you have to order online and be sitting at a table which can be annoying because they are always filled before the sunset, wish they had a better system set up.

Of course, the views are great and the drinks are flowing! Came here with a few friends after work. Security at the door made us empty our water bottles. I understand no outside food or drink, but a water bottle? Bit weird. We ordered food via their app and put down our table number for "delivery" after 45min we didn't receive our food so we went to the counter and our nachos had just been sitting there. At this point they were soggy and pretty gross. There were also chicken bones in the nachos. Definitely a disappointment

Very nice place on the barge in Greenpoint. I liked it, good vibes and of course expect it to be crowded on hot summer nights, especially on the weekends. I did not try the food but it looked good. You can order food only online which makes it a little weird to me..can't really understand why.Get there with subway cause parking is not so easy. Be patient and you'll find a spot where to sit with your friends, probably a shared table.Enjoy the sunset on Manhattan while you're sipping your margarita!
