Owned and operated by the family of kosher is cream giant Klein's Ice Cream, known for their prepackaged stuff (check the kosher grocery/supermarket near you). This is their flagship store serving many flavors freshly made just for the Ice Cream Houses, a few blocks from their Brooklyn ice cream warehouse. They may make the ice cream right there in the store. Biggest selection of Cholov Yisroel ice cream in town. They've even got non- dairy ice creams, sorbets and slushes. Great toppings and fresh waffles. They also have "real food" so there's no excuse for someone not to come. Pizza pasta, paninis and nachos. Fresh squeezed juices and blends. In think they have salads. Milkshakes of course. Big cookies and the like (which go well wth the ice cream). That's what comes to mind. I'll try to leave room for more real food in the future after sharing a couple of paninis (oh, they were good) and FRESH juice blend, which was a refreshing counterpoint to the extremely rich "main courses". Maybe I'll fast half a day before I come. :)) They've also got a huge selection of pre-made dairy and non-dairy ice cream and sorbet cakes. They can pop on a thin slab of chocolate with your custom message piped on. I also noticed once that they put out a custom cakes catalog which makes it seem that they'll do something like that for you. This is also a place to go if you're looking for a new/seasonal/hard-to-find Klein's Ice Cream packaged product. The workers there are always accommodating. They're friendly when things are quiet, but get very all-business, but somehow still accommodating, when things get busy. Which brings us to an important point: It takes some experience to guess when the place won't be busy. When it is busy you can have dozens of people ahead of you in line (you do have to give them credit for building a spacious location so the lines stay in the door without making the wholeplace claustrophobic). Almost every single one of then will be there for the same reason as you: to assemble their ultimate ice-cream-based creation. They can have 6+ trained workers hustling behind the counters, but an average of three types of ice cream from their wide selection, with a couple of toppings plus fudge, never mind drinks and other optionals still takes time for you to get your turn to do the same. :) The vibe is very kid and kid at heart friendly, with a bright, colorful, informal, decor, and their original bright red delivery truck finally receiving its honor, a parked centerpiece in the open space right in middle of the shop. Cleanup of the tables and abandoned trays is handled during "rush hour"s full-time by a designated employee, so you can always grab a table or comfy booth. The hashgacha (kashrus supervision) on the store is done by CRC-Hisachdus and R' Eckstein, while the premade cakes etc. in the big fridges have the same two Hashgachos they put on every product.
Overall, this is the number-one must-visit Milchig (kosher dairy) place...
Read moreFantastic spot to grab a bite! They serve everything including ice cream and milkshakes, fresh juices, bagels, salad, pizza, soups and even birthday cakes! And everything is delicious. Personally I get bagels, pizza or a build your own salad with their honey balsamic dressing. Definitely recommend coming here. Pricing is good too. Edit: Brian is super helpful and friendly! He's a pleasure to deal with and I'll be looking for him from now on! Edit 5/2021: Unfortunately their new ordering system is HORRIBLE!! Way to many questions, options are not exactly what they're listed as, the number on your ticket is given when you start the order not when you submit it so the numbers being served are out of order, and it's simply annoying. If paying cash you need to got to three different stations just get an ice-cream! The ordering kiosks, checkout counter, then order pick-up counter. Plus even though your order is submitted they don't start preparing it until you've paid. I understand the reasoning for that but it needs to be told to the customer. Things to change: 1) make sure every single item is EXACTLY what is written in the kiosk, 2) cash orders should just be taken at the counter! If you don't do the 2nd suggestion then 3) once a cash order is placed, display in big bold letters "Payment is needed before your order will be made. Please see an associate at the checkout counter." I've lowered my 5 stars just to get your attention and will update it when I get a reply. The ice-cream is still 5 stars but sadly the overall experience is no longer enjoyable with this system. It should not take 15-20 minutes to get a simple ice-cream. **Helpful? - hit the...
Read moreUnacceptable, is one word that describes my experience. I went with my family and was looking for a dine in experience. Due to the lovely individuals who were not wearing mask or following protocol of 6 feet a part. I had to eat my “ hard ice cream “ on the go which melted under 2-3 minutes. A sign was put outside that said people must where mask, yet the workers were not enforcing the rules . We are in the middle of a pandemic, and business like this are operating like this . Furthermore the children were running up and down , and jumping on top of the car instead of taking photos. The store probably had 30 people and it was a very small store. Very unfortunate that people and staff do not know how to follow or...
