Now, I was across the street at The Westin talking with the manager inside of the FedEx Print Center, and asked about ‘Where I could get a cup of Coffee? At the Starbucks?’ I said. And he replied, ‘You know it’s closed. But there’s this great place if you go down the escalator and exit across the street from here.’ So, following his advice went downstairs and across the street to The Times Eatery— immediately seeing the lack of outdoor tables taken up with the lunch crowd I headed indoors. Busier than expected I moseyed over to the Order Line. After awhile they took my order and within moments notice my Lox & Cream Cheese on an Everything Bagel with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced red onions, and capers— floated over to the cash register mobbed by everyone including me standing there. Of course the place is packed with all sorts of gob-stopping pastries, iced donuts, cakes, and sugary sweets that only covered one side. There is a great assortment of salads, and a cache of breads, and other delicacies to fresh food items in another section all the way down to their grill. Amazing standing around waiting for the order to arrive, of course standing still looking at everything there.
Then, after moving to an empty table, the crisp toasted bagel sandwich was utter perfection biting into one half of it !! Amazingly again … the ambiance was filled with wonderful tourists from everywhere around the globe, mostly Spaniards. But patronized by many other Europeans from other cities too. It has an antiquated charm and busyness by its location especially on a sunny clear afternoon which made it tremendously nicer to eat lunch !! I really liked it. Really quite an enjoyable and utterly relaxing place just sitting having time to eat more casually without pressing matters. Lovely.
A great spot if they had more outdoor chairs and tables to sightseers passing through the sidewalks. Highly recommended definitely if your visiting from anywhere else— just great all-around Cafe...
Read moreWhat a sad avocado toast.
Edit: I was hoping to have the avocado toast mirror the quality demonstrated in the pictures in Google Maps, two robust slices of whole wheat bread packed with avocado, tomato chunks, and cheese, yet I was disappointed when the whole wheat slices were burnt and in the form on an avocado sandwich and not an avocado toast (meaning that instead of 2 slices topped with avocado we were given singular coat of avocado within 2 pieces of bread). When in reality this "toast" was cut in half with about only 3 miniature avocado chunks per slice and some pepper flakes. The toast we were given lacked the toppings we were expecting, in turn deeming the already pricey avocado toast super expensive at 7 bucks for 2 slices of burned toast and meager amounts of avocado. Overall, I'd just ask, if were to visit this restaurant ever again in my stay of NYC, for an actual decent toast. Please fix this The...
Read moreI recently visited this coffee shop in New York, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant.
Service: The service was incredibly slow, even though the shop wasn’t busy. The staff seemed disinterested and were not very attentive or friendly.
Quality: I ordered a coffee , and it was quite disappointing. The drink tasted stale and lacked flavor. It was clear that the ingredients were not fresh.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the shop left much to be desired. The tables were dirty, and the floor was littered with trash. The overall ambiance was uninviting.
Value: For the price, I expected much better quality and service. There are plenty of other coffee shops in New York that offer a better experience for a similar price.
Overall, I would not recommend There are many other places in the city where you can get better coffee...
