Let me start by saying my rating mainly reflects service. First of all. We had not been sitting for more than a minute when the waitress came up to us and asked what we wanted to drink. When we asked to have 2 minutes to check for drinks she rolled her eyes and walked away( I was trying to show my family a good dining experience so i didn’t make a big deal about it). We were the only costumers in the restaurant so i don’t know why we were rushed. Afterwards we ordered food ( because we felt rushed, i just ordered something quick that i felt they would like) and when the food arrived thats when everything went from bad to worse. The waitress came back with appetizers and slammed them on the table and just walked away. Me and my family were Catching up on good times so we ignored it to not let it ruin our evening. After the first waitress dropped the appetizers Another waitress came right behind her and asked if we were ready for entrees, Which we were so we ordered them. When the platters came, the rude waitress was the one to deliver the platters again and got upset when sushi rolls were incorrect. We politely asked if she can switch them to what we ordered(keep in mind it wasn’t our fault they brought the food out incorrectly, it was a miscommunication between the two waitresses) and at this point she raised her voice and spoke in a disrespectful manner to my family about the order. I got upset and responded in the same way because it made my family feel uncomfortable. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this restaurant. The food is great but they really have to change their waitstaff. I don’t expect fine dining experience but it doesn’t mean me and my family should be treated...
Read moreTried the beef fried rice, dragon roll, calamari dragon, pink lady roll and a bunch of a la carte pieces. The beef in the fried rice was not very tender, had a gamey taste; the rice was flavored well. The pink lady and dragon rolls, to my eyes, are of smaller portion than what I am used to at other places. They tasted fine. The calamari dragon was decent, but I found its flavor was overpowered by a thick layer of sauce.
I ordered a bunch of a la carte pieces priced at $1 each. The quality of those pieces were decent.
Overall, the food was not bad. Decent, but wasn't so crazy to leave a deep impression. I'd come again if I am craving sushi for it's close to home and decently priced.
They have toro on the a la carte menu, but they ran out (duh), and I was told that apparently there are customers that come just for that and order 20 pieces at a time...
I sat by the window looking out the street, so didn't get a good look at the interior of the restaurant. But it was not noisy, which makes it a decent place to have a...
Read moreAs the friendliness has slightly improved over the last few years the quality of service has been ignored. Firstly the soup and salad that comes with a meal should never be forgotten, and when the soup is brought to the table, it really should be hot. Unless specifically asked for, an appetizer should not show up at the same time as the main course... Especially when only half of said main course is brought to the table. I had to ask where the rest of my meal was, only to be told that it wasn't ready yet and would be brought out later.
The food is just good. There is nothing wrong with it, besides the cold soup, but it has no umph. No wow factor. The fish is mid grade quality at best, but for $1.00 per sushi or sashimi piece, you really do get what you pay for.
The saving grace of this restaurant is the decor. You feel like you are in a really nice establishment. The dark wood and nicely done decorations make this place feel authentic and inviting.
If you are in the area and must eat sushi, give this...
