Lot-Less — Local services in New York

I wish I could give 0stars. I work with individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, today at 12:45 I walked into the store with somebody I support so he could purchase a charger for his phone. We didn’t even make it up the steps in the lobby before security stopped the individual I support and told him he had to leave because he’s been caught stealing before. This was our first time in the area so there’s no way this is possible. Anyway I had my Work ID badge on & I tried explaining to the man he has the wrong person but was told that he recognizes him and has caught him stealing before. I’m not sure how he could recognize the person I support with a mask and hoodie on but we were not allowed in the store. I asked the man for his name to address him professionally and he just said “my name is security, that’s all you need to know. And you gotta leave” It wasn’t until I announced that the person I support was mentally disabled did security finally say he MAY have had the wrong person and we were allowed to shop. But after being embarrassed for 5 minutes I didn’t feel comfortable letting the person I support spend money on a place that would treat us so rudely. Do/be better. I feel like had a staff member not been there the guy supported would have been treated much more poorly by security...

This store is Huge! And brings "UNREAL" HUGE CROWDS. Excellent prices for Name Brand merchandise. Affordable and economical. "If they have something for you, BETTER GRAB IT... it won't be there the second time around." Besides shoes and clothing, a large variety of snacks and dry foods are also available in this establishment; along with electronics, appliances, draperies and mostly everything for home decor. This is also a seasonal store, where you can find Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations and lots of Toys. School supplies. Winter coats and Summer clothes!!! They have everything. Great customer service! and if you are pinching pennies, this is the place to go! Budget friendly. And yes, they have toothpaste and personal hygiene products 😁👍 A MUST TRY! BEWARE OF LONG LINES DURING 12:00-3:00pm. Every day......

Bargains galore but be mindful of the price tags. Many items are not priced correctly then when you go to the register to pay it is a lot higher than what the sticker says; I believe they are counting on people to purchase anyway. Lot's need to make their staff place well marked stickers on each and every piece of clothing (denim, coats, shirts). And place the pants so that they can hang not be folded into small spaces where they will eventually end on the floor because no one wants to take the time to refold clothing. Also this location is not air conditioned well. The circulation through this large space was fine a few years back when it was The Strand Bookstore but now it always feels way too warm in the Fall and is down right stifling in the Summer. I will stick with other locations which are...
