The portion sizes were pretty small for the price, but the most upsetting part of this visit was the server. When we paid the bill I put a $5 tip on my card because we didn’t have enough cash to cover the tip, but we weren’t going to leave yet anyway, as we were still finishing our drinks. We were going to put the rest of the tip in cash on the table when we left. The waiter came to us very rudely and asked if the service was good and why we gave him $5. I have never in all my years of going to restaurants ever experienced this. How incredibly rude! First of all, we weren’t even finished, and I understand if you were curious about the $5 tip but then you can calmly and professionally approach us and ask nicely why. However, this waiter was rude, and flipped open the booklet with the bill and I don’t want to say slammed because he didn’t slam it but he put the booklet down on the table with force, which showed us that he was upset. Very unprofessional. Honestly, the brunch wasn’t even that great to come back for, especially after that souring experience. I felt very offended in the manner of which he approached us. Next time you plan to approach a customer about something like that be calm, and professional, and never raise your voice, give an attitude and walk off after putting the bill down on the table with force! It’s definitely not a good look for your restaurant, or what you want your customers to remember. To sum it all up, I...
Read moreLooks like a neat clean storefront with an unassuming menu. Inside it is very clean and comfortable, and the staff is welcoming and professional, and the menu comes to life in high quality execution and special culinary detail. The Pandora music feed sets a great mood (from Al Green to Stevie Wonder to Sinatra to....)
We started by sharing the mac and cheese - has fresh bacon/lardon just the right amount, cheddar and parmesan cheese, crisped on the top and creamy underneath (perfect - even better than my own and that is saying alot).
For mains we had the Chickpea Ricotta Ravioli with Asparagus and Pea Puree - so original - so fresh - so flavorful and artistically presented. And the half of a pan-seared chicken, on mushrooms, spring onions and home-made gnocchi, in a rich juicy reduction. The chicken was enough for three meals really - not kidding - I ate 1/3 and brought home 2/3 for tomorrow.
We chose profiteroles for dessert to share - three delicate cream puff shells, 3 nice-sized scoops of quality vanilla ice cream (possibly made there, as it was very fresh and didn't taste like any packaged ice cream I recognize), well-drizzled with dark chocolate syrup. All the consistencies meshed well and were professionally assembled.
Totally recommend Ltauha and I will return whenever I can.
Do park on the side streets e.g Catalpa or Putnam without meters, as Myrtle Ave has active meters daily...
Read moreMy second time here. First time, delicious dinner (salmon, asparagus) and nice atmosphere. Today brunch - boring and pricey menu. If you charge $12 bucks for avocado toast, use toast bread and it should be some kind of generous avocado puree or something, not half of avocado crushed with a knife on some sad slice of reg bread. Food was nothing to run back for, homefries tasteless. But the real reason for me to write this review was a waitress with a nose piercing and general customer service. I honestly don’t remember when I experienced such a pushy behavior. First, I’m coming in with an empty paper cup after coffee and before any hello/welcome a guy in front tells me „no drinks from outside”. He even pointed out to make sure I put it on hostess stand/table and doesnt take it with me. I understand policies but approach is a no no. I was not there even an half an hour, plenty sitting available and she is ready with a check. Well, it was not much to eat, but im not leaving yet. I’ll let you know when I leave. She was moving around and then, standing by front „above” us. She finally said, she wanna close the check, cause she is going home. And that’s fine. Say it, do not make people uncomfortable/unwelcomed. I work in customer service too and if a customer tells me „everything fine” I am not sitting on top of...
