Yoshi — Restaurant in New York

I’m very disgusted by the disrespect and poor customer service from the woman at the door/register. I felt i was being disrespected because I’m black and I’m being stereotyped. She was rude had no customer service and basically was rushing me to pay with cash and didn’t want me to use my card. She acted as if i was doing fraud. Demanding my identification when i wasn’t informed the transaction is only credit and not debit. I had no problem showing my identification but i didn’t understand why was it needed if i was using debit. The lady was very nasty again and made me feel very disrespected. Like give me money now pay me cash now. Also i was trying to understand the total and why the price was that and not lower. She didn’t care. The first few times i went there it was smooth overall but it was always that feeling of racism. Just tolerating me for my money but today was the last time for me. Never again. Lost me as a returning customer. Also we ordered chicken and i got home and they gave me beef and i don’t eat red meat. It was horrible there I did take out and I had to pay $50.00 but then my brother noticed that on the menu it says if you pay $50.00 or more you'll get a free Kani salad and 10% off so my brother came up and told her and she changed everything but then kept on giving my brother the look. They gave us the food and we went home. When me and my family were eating we noticed that in the Kani salad there was a lot of lettuce and I thought who puts lettuce into Kani salad? So the Kani salad tasted awful I tried to get all the lettuce off but it was so hard because there was so much and it was in both off them since I got 2 so i didn't eat so I wouldn't ever recommend...

Small local place. Staff is super friendly and learned my name from the first visit. Owner gave saki on the house with every visit. Would be a regular there but they lack in temperature control of the food and beverage. Hot tea is ALWAYS luke warm at best when served, as well as the white rice and most other "hot" dishes. Also, they penny pinch for ANY deviations to the menu but not by the usual $1 other sushi places charge - more like $3. My 10 year old only likes salmon sushi. There was a dish with another fish. We asked for just salmon. Whoa! $5 extra. Crazy. We got tired of the cool food and "unsmart"...
