Sharing a rather disappointing purchase experience. I called into the store in the morning to place an order for an 8'' Mango Brûlée Cake. As advised by the representative, I place the order online instead for pick-up at 5:00 later that day. The order went through and my credit card was charged instantly, An order confirmation email followed shortly. Everything indicated a successful order. However when I went to pick up the order at 5:00 PM, I was told that the order was cancelled at around 4:50 PM due to unavailability of the cake. So basically the order was cancelled 10 minutes before the pickup time! The email for that cancelled order arrived AFTER I was informed of the cancellation verbally while at the store. It was for an event and I was dreading the utter embarrassment of returning to the event without a cake. Apparently there was one other Mango Brulee cake available in the back but that was assigned to someone who ordered the cake after I did. I think the cashier understood my plight and tried her best to arrange a cake for me. At one point I was offered 10 cut slices as a replacement - not an option for a celebration involving the ceremonious "cake cutting". After around 30 minutes of back and forth the final solution was to pass on my situation to the unsuspecting customer who ordered the cake next (which I think happened to me in the first place). Glad that I got the cake but sad that the customers had to go through this confusion. Next time I would like to know if my order has been cancelled with enough notice so that I can make other...
Read moreThe managers Samantha and RJ are both liars and lack basic common sense and the necessary and required training to be able to do their job.
I'm just going to say that this establishment only does cater to their Asian customers and I've waited all day for a call from the store/branch manager
The staff is actually very unprofessional and very rude. Siblings and I went in to order milk teas w/boba we ended up having to run another transaction for additional boba that apparently wasn't charged in the first transaction but it definitely was the cashier who asked and confirmed with us that all the drinks are to have boba only for us to be told that one of the drinks weren't paid for the boba in which I had to run my card for 50 cents not a problem but when I'm only given four out of five drinks and then being told that we only had paid for four Drinks all of a sudden only for us to have to pay for additional drink that was paid for it during the first initial transaction. When I did call back in the next morning cuz it wasn't sitting right with me I got met with a very unprofessional individual when I asked for the manager who also wanted to go ahead and mimic and talk back and how I wanted to talk to the manager. When Samantha the manager came on to the line I definitely did let her know that that was very rude and unprofessional and the fact that I even had to hear that I was being mimicked when asking for the manager. I am still waiting for the manager to give me a...
Read moreThe first 85C in the Bay, I still remember 200 people waiting 2 hours in line to get a complementary mug and tote during the opening.
This is definitely one of the more stable bakeries in the area (if you've been to all the 85s in the East and South Bay, you know what I mean). I rarely have any issues finding a specific bread that I'm craving, so it looks like they have a solid supply chain.
For example, I absolutely love the milk tea bun. That mild milk tea flavored filling with a soft jelly-like pearl in the middle, absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, it's a bit of a stretch to find it at the Milpitas or Fremont branch. Never had any trouble finding one here, whether it's at 10AM or just before dinner.
They do the same drink promotions as the other branches, Monday is usually some kind of drink special. It was a BOGO coffee, but now it's for their smoothies (summer promo and all).
One thing to note is that if you come here anywhere from 12PM - 1PM over the weekend, don't expect to find any seating. Just tons and tons of families from Newark Buffet spilling over to stock up on bread for the week and to gossip among family members and making their kids feel bad about how their cousin got into a better school...
