I stopped by Feng Cha Teahouse on Jarvis Avenue and immediately liked the clean, modern vibeâitâs bright, with chill music and plenty of spots to sit and chat or study. The kiosk ordering system is easy to use, and staff were helpful when I asked about drink recommendations.
I ordered the CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e Dirty Boba**, and it absolutely lived up to the hypeâcreamy, rich, and with that signature brĂ»lĂ©e crust that cracked nicely when stirred. I also tried their Dirty Taro, which surprised me with actual taro chunks and a smooth, not-too-sweet balance. Honestly, the taro foam on their taro milk tea deserves a shout-outâit adds a nice texture dimension. Boba texture was spot-onâsoft, chewy, and not overly sweet.
The menu variety impressed me: from fruit teas like Kiwi Basil Green Tea to indulgent milk foam creations and even small cakes for dessert-seekers. They accommodate dietary preferences too, offering dairy substitutes and adjustable sweetness/ice levels.
One minor note: some drinks, like the Matcha Breeze, could use a stronger matcha punch, but overall flavor is well-balanced and refreshing. Service was quickâeven during a weekend pickup run, staff were efficient and friendly.
Feng Cha Teahouse hits the mark for great taste, friendly service, and a comfy atmosphere. Their CrĂšmeâŻBrĂ»lĂ©e Dirty Boba and taro offerings are standouts, and with adjustable options and a modern setup, itâs become my...
Read moreStopped here for a quick bite while on a bicycle ride with my wife. I was the only customer inside and I ordered 2 orders of egg rolls. Over the next 20 minutes several customers walked in and ordered from the front, waited, received their orders and left. I even saw my neighbor come in and order and leave before me. I asked why it was taking so long and was told it would just be another few minutes...25 MORE minutes later and several more customers with fulfilled orders later I went to ask for a refund and they ignored me for 5 more minutes and whispered to each other while pointing at me. I was completely appalled. Finally, another customer walked in and when the staff went to help them, I stepped in front and politely asked for my money back. They did give me a refund, but did not seem to care 1 little bit that they just iwasted 45 minutes of my time. Honestly, it felt like it was intentional and I don't understand why you would treat a polite, well dressed, and paying customer who came in with a positive attitude like they're worthless unless it was for some other reason (passive racism?) I emailed the owner after this incident and explained in detail what had happened to which I received no reply. It doesn't matter if they have the best drinks in the world, a business who treats people the way this one treated me...

A bit out of the way compared to most teaspots, in the back of Newark near the 84 bridge.
The place is clean and very spacious. Oddly enough, there's a wok kitchen inside so if you happen to want fried rice or noodles with your boba, it's there.
The space seems to be separated such that the left side is for people ordering food while the right side looks more like a drink shop.
The standard menu includes a good variety of milk tea (they have tie guan yin and osmanthus oolong), and they go through the customization and order very thoroughly so there shouldn't be any issues with ordering. Other than that, they have different panna cotta desserts if you want to couple your sugar with more sugar.
For now, the boba is fine for what it is. I can't say there's anything particularly standing out, but if you're in the area, it's not a bad choice. Will come back to...
