Burger King — Restaurant in Newark

I order several times a week mostly via app. For the last 2 mos. Something is either wrong or missing with the order. I call dozens of times once I notice the missing item but no one picks up the phone therefore I'm unable to resolve upon receipt. I pay a delivery fee, service fees, and tip each time for the service of delivered food. I pay to be cheated. They tell me I would have to come in physically despite the order being online.

To receive money for products and not deliver the products is a form of theft. It would not be tolerated if the tables were turned.

And yet today I finally come in physically & my in person order was ALSO wrong. They had to take back my food and I had to re-wait.

I decided this was a perfect time to address my last 3 missing orders.

The on site Manager Shamanique said she had to call the General Manager Marlene despite the fact I was told that she herself could assist 1ce (on a rare occasion that I got through by phone).

The onsite Manager called the General manager on the phone. The General manager checked her cameras while on the phone and admitted that she physically recognized me because I am a loyal frequent customer. I asked for the value of the items while I was in store.

She told the onsite manager that she could not provide any customer resolution unless I physically came again during her daytime shift as if I don't have a job of my own. I asked what information would I provide to her the next day that she was not already provided at that moment. She had no explanation.

She even so far as tried to insist my items were free reward items and said because they were free I wasn't entitled to any replacement. Mind you 1 of the 3 items were reward items - the rest I paid cash plus a hefty service and delivery charge to receive.

This burger King's customer service is trash. The fact that she recognized me and still didn't resolve the issue shows how little customer loyalty means to this location.

The locals are forced to deal with this terrible treatment as it is the only local Burger King in the nearby area.

As much as I enjoy the food this location will never see another dime of my business again.

I will update this post with my contribution as a customer to this location's annual revenue as well as my many calls to resolve this & previous order mistakes the moment of concern.

My next step is to forward this to BBB...

I decided to stop by Burger King for a quick bite, and while the food itself was pretty solid, the overall experience with customer service and atmosphere could have been better. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy at the time, but the energy behind the counter felt tense. There was a woman in a black shirt, who appeared to be the manager, calling out orders and handing out food. The way she handled things came across as very direct and somewhat impatient, almost like she was annoyed. She required customers to present their receipts before receiving their food, which is understandable for accuracy, but the way it was communicated sometimes came off harsh. At one point, I even noticed her getting into little back-and-forth arguments with a couple of guests waiting for their meals.

When it came time for me to get my order, I had my receipt ready, and she was very straightforward in how she approached me. I will give her credit because she handed me my food with precision and care, making sure everything was correct. That part I appreciated, as it showed attention to detail despite the less welcoming approach overall.

As for the food, it was fresh, hot, and exactly what you’d expect from Burger King, so no complaints there. I can’t say the same for the atmosphere, though—it just didn’t feel inviting or comfortable, and customer interactions seemed more stressful than they needed to be. I’d come back for the food if I was craving it again, but I’d definitely hope for a friendlier vibe and better customer...
