Market City — Restaurant in Newark

Stay away from this restaurant. The owners are rude and a bit shady. Last time I was here one of their cooks pretended to be the owner to charge a higher price for a bagel. I asked for one bagel with one side light cream cheese which was 2.75 and requested the other side light peanut butter and they wanted to charge over 6 dollars although their sign said something different.the sign mentioned that it’s 1.75 for a bagel with PB&J.... but the cook rudely kept saying I own the place and if I give you the peanut butter it’s an additional 1.75 but I get no bagel. Which was confusing because on the sign it clearly mentioned it’s 1.75 for the bagel. Just shady!!

Also, on more than one occasion I have noticed uncleanliness with how they prepare food. It’s a local spot but you are better off going someone different. When I come here I normally stick to very basic things as they do not wash or clean a lot of their food...

The lady who answers the phone is rude, childish and unprofessional. She answers the phone like she is talking to one of her friends on the corner. I called in to place an order for delivery to my job which they normally delivery to with no problem. She takes my order in full knowing that it was for delivery because I stated this at the top of my call and she then says they are not delivering there. I have to say, their quesadillas are rich in flavor and very well-seasoned. The quesadillas were made with flour tortillas that were warmed on a griddle, filled with cheese, and diced cooked chicken. It comes with a side of guacamole and a salad topped with Pico de Gallo. The portions and the combination on this plate are perfect. I’ve bought their quesadillas on many occasions, and their taste and presentation are consistent. Aside from their food, I can tell you that the staff in this place are truly kind, and courteous.
