We drove an hour to come to this restaurant due to great recommendations from a friend (who also dined in with us last night). I was excited to try this place out from all the great things he said. I ordered the Salmon and shrimp in a lemon garlic sauce. I have never once ate salmon at a restaurant that serves it with the bones in it. The first bite was great, it tasted good. The second bite I bit into something hard. I pulled out a salmon bone. I started to look through the salmon and all the bones (including the pin bones) were in there. My boyfriend has been a chef for over 16 years and tried deboning it for me but without the proper tools it was impossible. I sent the dish back, I NEVER send food back at restaurants. Our friend who is Portuguese heard the server cursing me out for sending it back, he let me know what he was saying. I got the short rib as the second dish and I was hoping for a better outcome but it was tough to even cut through. I’m not sure if this was intentional by the staff or not since they made it clear how angry they were for something that was their mistake. I wrapped it to go and took it home. When the serve wrapped my short ribs they only gave me one back instead of the two that were there, which clearly still had meat on it. Now let’s get to the bill. My boyfriend and our friend are looking it over, we were way overcharged for one of the entrees we got compared to the price on the menu. With thoroughly looking it over, the person who rang our bill in scammed us but adding extra to an entree dish to pay for the salmon that was sent back, again due to the restaurants mistake. The only thing I had that was good were the crab cakes. Between my boyfriend and I both working in the restaurant industry ourselves for long enough, we have never seen a place charge for something that was their fault. No manager came to the table to check in, instead we got nasty looks from the servers. We will not be coming here again, absolutely no professionalism at all. All they care about is taking your money when they screw up. Our friend that formerly came to this restaurant all the time will no longer be coming here either. Below I attached a photo of the salmon entree I got. It looked so good I had to snap a photo, even in the photo you can see the bones piercing out. Glad I took this photo.

RIP OFF !!! Brought my Daughter and 2 year old Grandson here on Sept. 17, 2021. We ordered food for 3 people ( 2 Adults and one child) The food was DISGUSTING!!! Couldn’t eat the greasy fish, vegetables or dehydrated potatoes. My Daughter ordered crab legs that unbeknownst to her were cut up in pieces and cost $62 😱 and from the kids meal chicken tender for $15.50. I had to get up 3 times to get my waiter because he’s too busy yapping away with another table. And my waiter, a short guy that was supposed to be the manager had a nasty attitude with me because I asked for bread and butter. Look at my pics, anything missing? WATER !!! It was 9 pm and we were sitting in the back dining room and the place was not busy. But here’s the best part, the bill was shocking. I NEVER challenged a restaurant bill, I did on this one. Take a look at my pictures and the bill. They literally tacked on a $36 tip 😱 Let’s see: I got up 3 times, never got my water, chopped up crab legs, discusting fish, had to request bread and butter, and they try tried ripping me off. Key word “TRIED.” Look at my receipt carefully, study it. Because I sure did. They even charged me for the “to go” empty platters. Obviously we didn’t finish the food so we needed the platters. We gave the food to a homeless guy and that’s the best part of the night. Well, after trying to rip me off a new bill was adjusted and I paid $201 tip included. WILL NEVER ENTER THIS TRAIN WRECK AGAIN !!! You’ve been warned 🤞 I promise you, there’s better restaurants in Newark!!!

Went here on a Saturday night. It was packed but we had a reservation and we were seated right away. There is off street FREE parking too. Small restaurant and crowded so it was loud but that was ok with us. Not for a romantic dinner. 😉 We ordered a pitcher of red sangria - which was great and the Salada de Polvo appetizer. That's octopus salad served chilled. It was delicious and enough for 2 people...maybe 3! All the portions here were huge. So I had the Mariscada with Tomato sauce. It was served with white rice and it was amazing. My husband had the Bacalhau Cozido. The presentation was nice but the bacalhau smelled like cacalhau. 🫢 My husband tried to eat it holding his nose 😂 but couldn't do it. He asked for it wrapped to go but the package didnt make it into the car. Maybe it was the mix of codfish and the eggs - but that was bad. He would not order that again. We had the Vanilla Nut Log and Pineapple Sorbet for dessert - both very good. So everything was good for the most part and the service was really great. We are definitely going back but my husband will choose more wisely next time. 😉
