Taco Bell — Restaurant in Newark

Horrible experience genuinely. I went through the drive thru because when I went inside a few months ago I waited for nearly 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the staff, and almost another 20 to actually get my order (which they almost forgot my drink). Well this time I go through drive thru and it was extremely fast, I asked for two tacos but to substitute the beef with chicken and I expected the extra dollar charge for the substitution, what I did not expect was to get my tacos and for there to be five tiny pieces of chicken buried under the lettuce on each, the tortillas were literally cold to the touch. Whatever, I decided to just go inside and get them remade. I was shocked by how much the employees pushed back though, and they were refusing to do anything about is until I said I wanted a refund, then suddenly they were able to remake it. The guy at drive thru was acting like I was overreacting and said the extra dollar I paid was for the substitution not the chicken, but why am I paying it if they aren't actually giving me a decent amount to substitute the beef with? The entire conversation was so frustrating and I felt completely disrespected. I have worked fast food, I knew what to expect and I was upset but I wasn't being exceptionally rude or anything, just wanted to get what I paid for. Never coming to this...

I made my order at the drive-thru and my order was never on the screen as it has been at other locations for me to confirm it's correct, although they repeated my order perfectly as I had to tell her twice. Once I pulled up to the window. The lady requested my order from the beginning all over again. The service was fast but definitely not friendly. The lady had on a mask but literally grab the bag and crumpled the top and handed it to me and seemed irritated. There was also no hot sauce that I had requested, which she grabbed a huge handful and gave it to me with her hands she just handled my credit card with. I would like to note the cheese was cold for the chips I purchased. I also was not offered nor given a receipt for the items I purchased. Not a good experience and from what I remember about seven or eight years ago when I ate there, they accidentally put meat in my tacos after I requested vegetarian, as I have not been a meat eater for well over a decade. I won't be back to...

I have frequented this place for years, the staff were always friendly and my orders used to be what I'd expect them to be; that is until recently.

The last 3 times, I've ordered #6: 2 Chalupas, 1 crunchy taco and a drink. 3 times I've asked to substitute the chicken with beef and each time I still get chicken. I even see it on the screen that says to substitute beef for chicken. Like come on... The chicken tastes different than the beef and the texture always reminds me of previously frozen meat, hence why I prefer beef. Whoever decided to make Chicken the default meat for the Chalupas needs to taste it themselves. Even the chalupas themselves aren't the same, it's like it's been sitting out.

Not sure what happened but the service has dipped. A couple of times I've asked for Mild sauce, and I get nothing and because of the long lines, I stopped driving back (from home) to get my orders fixed. Such a shame, I used to think this was the better of the Taco Bells...
