I rarely post a review on a business but when I do it is mainly due a unsatisfactory experience. The food here was NOT good! Plain and simple. I think this "Mexican" restaurant gets away with cutting corners as there is not another Mexican restaurant like this in the area to take its business away. La Sierra cuts corners with their food by serving canned beans, store bought chips and a lack of pride or love in their food. It's unfortunate they charge what they do for the store bought food they serve. If nothing else, they should make in house the beans they serve. It's a staple and served with every meal in a traditional Mexican meal. The beans are straight pathetic! Save your hard earned dollars and travel just a little further down 99 to Casa Colima for delicious in-house made chips, beans and many other items on their menu. It's truly upsetting when you're hungry, driving home from a long road trip and looking forward to a GOOD authentic Mexican meal and then only to be served something that was not fresh and slapped together from items you would buy from a bulk grocery store. Yuk! Pass on this place if you know good authentic...
Read moreI walked in at 925pm and was seated immediately.(10pm closing time) Prior to coming in, I had already decided to order the chicken and steak fajitas so I ordered it right away and was offered complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. I liked the chips and especially the salsa but the fajitas, that's another story. By the time my fajitas order arrived, I had been thoroughly exposed to cleaning chemicals used to mop their floors. Shortly after being served the chips and salsa, they were mopping their floors almost next to my section of the dining room. I thought about moving and looked at a different section of the restaurant but, they've mopped all around except for my section. I couldn't really give an accurate opinion of how my fajitas order tasted since my sense of taste and smell had been overwhelmed by either Pine-Sol or bleach. So much so, my nostrils were hurting and itching. I only ate the amount of food I ate because I needed to put food in my stomach, not because I...
Read moreI had lunch here today. Best Mexican food I've had nearby. Better than Ixtapa and Muchas Gracias, which is Mexican fast food. I was especially excited and pleased that Tino was our server. I know him from another establishment he used to work at, and he is a top notch quality server, always a smile on his face and adding humor. Every time at the other establishment he said, "See you tomorrow!" as I was leaving. He said it to me again today with a big smile and expecting a laugh from me (which I did ❣️ 🤣🤣🤣) Of course if I could afford it I WOULD be back every day. This was my first visit to La Sierra and the whole menu looked great. I had the Special Nachos and my companion had the Macho Burrito with Chili Verde. She said it had large pieces of pork on the inside. Neither of us could finish our meals, although we wanted to IF we had more room to eat more. Coffee served at the perfect hot temperature I will go...
