Skal Pizza — Restaurant in Newport Beach

My partner and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon during a special event in Newport Beach, and we were blown away by the exceptional service we received. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home.

Our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to recommend some of their signature dishes. We opted for the kale salad and artichoke pizza, and it was clear that the kitchen staff had put a great deal of care and attention into each dish. When our food arrived, we were struck by the beautiful presentation and the aromas wafting from the plates.

After taking a bite of the pizza, we were absolutely delighted by the explosion of flavors. The herbs, cheese, and bread worked together in perfect harmony, creating a truly memorable culinary experience. The kale salad was equally impressive, with the addition of a sardine that added an extra layer of depth and complexity to the dish.

I just left here after having the worst dinner I've ever had

We got there at 4:45pm and the server offered to sit us at the bar or outside. We stupidly agreed to sit outside since there were 2 heaters next to each chair. Spoiler alert: it was freezing and miserable!

We ordered 1 pepperoni pizza and 1 saffron miso pasta. The food came out quick but the it was awful. The pizza was so soggy that there were holes in the crust. And it looked like they chose the cheapest pepperoni possible. We make pizza every week at home in our pizza oven and this one was just terrible.

We stopped here on our way to LAX before boarding a 16 hour flight to Asia. We had no choice but to finish the food since we're going on such a long flight. The server told us to "let her know" the next time if we have issues. She didn't come to check on us once so I'm not sure how we would've "let her know"

Terrible food and terrible service. We won't be back. The entire meal lasted less than 20 minutes and now our noses are both sniffling since it was so...

Right off the bat, when we arrived the service in the establishment was superb, as all the waiters and employees were very kind and outgoing (I want to especially think one waiter, but I cant remember his name, but he was arguably the nicest out of all of them! He was wearing a black shirt/hoodie at the time.) The fur decorations and the modern designs of the interior of the restaurant really set the mood for the food we were about to eat. The Salmon pizza we ordered has just the right amount of creaminess, freshness, crunch, tang, and oil, which all amalgamated into a pizza that was delectable while also not leaving you with a queasy feeling in the stomach. The wood fired carrots blew us away, as the just-right level of tenderness that the carrots had, as well as the various sauces that the dish with the salad made it almost reminiscent of an tasty, otherworldly meat-dish(made of veggies).
