We recently moved to the Dayton area and love Chinese food more than anything, so we decided to stop in and try it. The cashier guy wouldn't even talk to us for a few minutes or let us know it would be a minute, until we stared at him for a few minutes. He was very confusing on the sizes and portions. My friend ordered a side of lo mein with her meal, and seeing as we never ate there before, we checked the food before leaving when given to us. The small container for the side of lo mein was literally plain lo mein noodles, no sauce or anything. Just boiled noodles. I went up to the cashier and told him there was no sauce put on my friends noodles, and he just shrugged me off and said if we wanted sauce, we'd have to pay 10 dollars for the dinner meal portion of lo mein, then tried to move on without another word. I told him that my friend isn't doing to eat plain boiled noodles and he repeated the 10 dollar thing. So we got a refund for the noodles and left. Bad experience, bad customer service.
Edit: I was actually so disatisfied when I got home, I decided to update after going home and eating the food. The "fried rice" we got as a side with all our food, had giant clumps of white rice in it, and was literally just the barely fried, no veggies added rice that they refrigerate overnight to use to make fried rice. They gave us the rice they use to make fried rice with. I used to work in a 4 star Chinese place in buttermilk called oriental wok, so I'm used to seeing the rice made to make fried rice and that is what we got. Rice used to make fried rice straight out of the warmer. They put a coupon on their menu for a free chicken fried rice side with 2 entree purchases, and we used that, and the difference in the rice, not even just color wise because the 3 they gave us were white and a little yellowish but the chicken one was almost brown, but quality wise was night and day. The chicken fried rice was great. The 3 orders they gave us as sides with our entrees tasted like straight up white rice. The meat, I will say, was very good and cooked nicely. To bad this place is awful, and cuts corners to try and bring food prices down. DO NOT EAT HERE. We spent 40 dollars on our meal and only the meat and the small side of chicken fried...
Read moreFood is good and I like supporting a local business. I just don't remember the last time I got an order at the time it said it'd be ready.
They used to be fast and efficient a few years ago but they've gotten to the point it's 40+ minutes after your order pick up time that they even start your food. I ordered at 4:50 for a pickup time of 5:10. I got out at 5:50, but that was after asking to see the order status which seemed like it shuffled often.
Having one person doing online orders, phone orders, in person, and Doordash while packing the food and then starting things in the fryer? Makes no sense. There is no prioritization or process for the orders. I watched her write the orders from printed receipts from online onto paper tickets... while taking orders from the register and answering the phone. I couldn't keep it straight as an observer, I can't imagine doing it. I felt bad for her honestly.
Sad because the food is good, but just don't even bother going around rush hour. Maybe during non peak times, but otherwise I can't keep dealing with the unpredictable wait times. Just be honest with the pick up time, I don't want to wait next to rude and angry doordash drivers for 40 minutes while trying to support the business by not using those predatory apps that...
Read moreWould give zero stars if I could. I Ordered 34$ worth of food for them to mess up my order. I proceed to call them and they told me I am a “liar.” They wanted me to drive the food back and prove I was a customer to get the correct food that I asked and paid for. I was apparently “never there and I never placed an order when I can clearly see a paid charge on my bank account. I’m staring at my food and the order is completely wrong but I am the one in the wrong even though I paid for my food. Twenty minutes later they call me back after they hung up on me because I was never “real.” They called ME to tell me I was wrong! Genuinely feel bad for the employees. She could not have been more embarrassed of the person she works for after having to speak for him on the phone and pass it back and forth because he could not...
