T.J. Maxx — Local services in Newport

I come here all the time and love shopping at this location. I was here today and got a shirt on the clearance rack that was marked $8 the cashier frantically tells me something is wrong with the price. She pulls in the other co-worker not sure if it’s the manager and that said person started talking to me very aggressively and saying “someone put the wrong clearance sticker on here and this isn’t supposed to be the price!” I told her, it was on the clearance rack with that sticker…what exactly do you want me to do as a customer. She cuts me off mid sentence and I know but I’m going to look up the right price for it. I literally wait 5 minutes while she is trying to figure out the correct price. She rudely hands the shirt back to the cashier and the cashier tells me that the out of season white athlete shirt is actually $19.99. I told her that I no longer wanted it. Usually love this TJ.Max and go here often. Was very disappointed to see a checkout employee trying to take advantage of an elderly lady and get her to sign up for a credit card without making it apparent it was for an actual credit card. The employee led off with “would you like to sign up for rewards” and only very quickly in between her initial sales pitch said credit card, she ended with “all you need is your id” at the end it will only take a few minutes. She knew exactly what she was doing and it’s a shame whoever is managing right now is likely having the employees phrase it and lead into it in a way that makes people not realize what they are signing up for. When I checked out, the other employee did the same thing with me trying to lead it off by something that doesn’t make it clear it’s for a credit card and said“do you have any coupons or want to get some.” Do...

I have always loved shopping at TJ Maxx it's always stocked well, and seriously, their prices are truly unbelievably lower than most stores. It's for sure worth a stop in every now & then or as often as possible... An I mean, seriously, who doesn't like to save $$$ money. I love it !!! Every chance I get to save a little cash, shheesh ! I'll be one of the very first customers in them stores & line every time. Their majority of like the name brands as well as the lower prices alone are pretty much all i need to hear.
