Mattress Firm Newport Pavilion — Hotel in Newport

All of my past mattresses have come from Sam's Club or Costco, so I was reluctant to go to a mattress store due to my preconceived notion that mattress salesmen were just like used car salesmen. However, I wanted to see what was on the market, so I made the trip to Mattress Firm. I told my girlfriend to let me do all the talking because I've dealt with car salesmen, and alike, before. I got to the store, and parked far away from the store's front door to feel tactical. Upon walking in, I was not bombarded; rather, I was cordially welcomed by John. He asked questions about our sleep habits (side, back, or belly sleeper), if we have back pain, if we snore, etc. He then was able to take us directly to an AMAZING mattress. Knowing very little about the going rate of mattresses, we said thank you and left. We went to another mattress store a couple days later and their prices were WAY higher for less quality (less comfy). We returned to Mattress Firm; this time parking right in front of the store's front door. We purchased that first mattress John had pointed us to. Now, we eagerly await its delivery and setup, just 3 days after buying it! (We could have done 2 days after, but we chose Saturday delivery and setup.) Had a great experience with mattress firm. Haven't gotten the mattress just yet but so far the customer service has been amazing. Shane from the Newport store was friendly and knowledgeable and helped me get exactly what I wanted. Now to try out this adjustable base! Hope it helps me snore less! 😴

Update: when it came time to pick up the $1800+ mattress and base, we were under the impression the base was going to be assembled. No where did it say we would need to assemble the base, nor was it told to us, not to mention the employee Dionte (I think was his name) was not very customer service friendly and wasn't very helpful. Will update further once we've slept on it. 🤞

Update approx 6 months after having its been an okay mattress. Might need to have it replaced during warranty period. Although they say you can leave the mattress in the up position with the adjustable base I worry it will eventually mess with the integrity of the mattress even with rotating but we shall see. When we got married, my husband and I had his old bed from high school... I hated the thing, it was gross, and very uncomfortable. But prior to his bed the only type of bed I've ever owned was a water bed... So we had no idea what would be a good choice for us. Thankful Stephen found us the perfect mattress!
