Got there and they took me right away. This was 11am. Tried dip for the first time, not a fan. The lady kept causing me pain. First with the Dremel, then with the nail file. Every time if say ow, she'd ask me if it hurt. When I said yes she kind of bummed and moved on. Not once did she apologize. But some other lady came in because she forgot her phone the previous day and the first thing out of the nail lady's mouth was "I'm sorry" so I know she knows the words.
Moved on to my pedicure which started out fine. She'd given me the price earlier when she was trying to get me to do shellac. She said $55 with shellac and $35 without. I opted not to do shellac. We started, get halfway thru my pedi and she says she was going toeave me feet to Sola for 3 minutes. No problem. 20 minuteater I had to ask one of the other techs when she was going to finish my pedi. She'd taken another client who'd apparently made an appt and didn't tell me. Which means I'm now running late. 10 minutes later (30 minutes after the soak started) she comes back and finishes my pedi. The bill came to $95. Apparently she'd decided to up my pedi to the deluxe ($45), even though she's told me $35 earlier, without saying anything. She did do the shellac for $5 which I thought was a nice gesture, and needed since I no longer had time to dry regular polish, until I saw the bill. She compensated with the upgraded pedi. But that's fine, I just considered it her tip. I'd still been planning on leaving one but tips are given for good service and this just wasn't.
It's after 1pm, I was there for over 2 hours. 11 people signed in after I did, only 2 of them were still in the shop when I left.
If you're from out of town and this is where you end up, a couple of tips:
Confirm the service and the price before you sit down
Ask them how long it will take
Be prepared to walk out the first time the tech hurts you, acknowledges your pain and fails to apologize. Because will just keep happening.
Giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because my feet do look very nice, she didn't hurt me doing them and she paid special attention to handling my calluses which I appreciate. That in and of itself would have earned them 4 stars if not for...
Read moreToo quick, frugle, and careless to polish enough layers to cover the nail without the tips showing through. After having 2 nails pop off within a week last time I tried this place, I went here because my daughter and I were in a crunch on a Sunday. Luxx is okay at best, if you want a SIMPLE design for considerably more $$$ than other local places, but lesser quality. When my daughter politely told them she would pass (she decided to just wait to go to her regular tech) the short-haired lady in a ROCK-N-ROLL jean jacket became rude. Her and my tech started speaking in Vietnamese and pointing outside at my teenage daughter and shaking their heads laughing at her (as she likes her nails done long and had jewels on them). They proceeded to talk about her for several minutes and snicker then in English my tech said "your friend didn't want service?" I corrected her and told her it was my daughter. She (the manager) then became quiet the rest of the appointment. I asked her 3 times to fix a lobsided nail, that was extremely crooked. She continually told me "I'm not done," when I would politely point to the crooked-nail. Sure enough, she sent me out with it like that. I wasn't going to ask her a 4th time. I just won't spend my money there again. I spent a half hour once I got home filing them properly to where they weren't crooked and didn't have drip marks at the bottom by my cuticles. Very poor application and manners. I can see why the other 2 local Nail Salons have...
Read moreI come here all the time for my nails and toes and so did my father until today. My best friend and I both came in for gel manicures and mine were done just ok. I had to stop and remind him he forgot to file one hand but other then that my nails are fine but my friend sat down with a lady named Hanh Nguyen Ma and the lady didn’t cut all the cuticles and took it upon herself to change the nail shape and not even ask if that was ok. They were all different lengths and shapes. So she had her stop. After my manicure I was going to get a pedicure when this lady came up to us asking if we were gonna pay for the manicure that was never completed and looked horrible. When I told the lady we would not be paying for the service that was stopped after not even 5 minutes she accused us of not planning to pay the whole time and was screaming at us telling us we don’t need to know her name which I had to go find the license hanging up to get her name. The lady tried to lie to the manager Stacy that we requested the shape! Even though all nails were different shapes and was never asked what shape was wanted. The manager Stacy just let this employeee act like this and accuse us of stuff and everything. I will never come back here again the lady was so disrespectful and the fact that she can just scream at paying customers like that is beyond me and my next call will...
